Re: monitor will not function properly

Well that sucks.. i suggest you should acquire a boot disk.. you can create by yourself using another person's computer like your friends or office colleague.. then you can boot up on your pc and reinstall your operating system...

No display on monitor

Open your computer and discharge static by holding the chasis casing of your system unit for 1 minute. Then start cleaning your video and memory card and also the their slot by using vacuum cleaner and small paint brush. Then put it back again and test for a display. Most of the time because of the dust covered the slot or the pin of the video and memory so the system did not detected that hardware that is why those hardware will not functioning. Clean and test have a nice day!

The computer monitor is outdated, and does not have enough pixel quality to perform caparatively with high definitoin Quality. Also, the HDM1 computers are the best version capable, an outdate monitor would produce least qualify display images. Acquire a projector device to dsiplay high qaulity pictures from the HDM

When I turn on computer mouse and keyboard and screen dont come on

The first problem that you are facing is of Display that you are saying "Screen do not come on". What I recommend you to check your display wire that connects your Monitor to the Display Card located in your System. You have to see if it is connected properly or not.

Secondly, you display may not come if there may be a problem with your monitor, there is a possibility that your monitor is not functioning properly, and your Keyboard and Mouse are working. To check if there is any problem with your monitor, please use your PC with another monitor to see if there is a display screen appeared. If it appears, then there is a problem with your monitor and if not then still there is a possibility that your display card is not functioning properly.

Please change your display card with another one to see if works.

I hope the above methods will resolve your problem. If not, you can still contact me for further issues.

Kind Regards,

Khawar Khalid

My webcam is not found but it can function

If your webcam is integrated on the monitor, try to unplug replug the USB connection, if that does not fix it try to turn on and turn off the monitor. One thing I have experienced is that application that comes with the webcam conflicts with Instant Messenging, removing the application like Dell Webcam Manager and just keeping the driver installed should fix the problem. Also check for the settings of your Instant Messenging application. Hope this helps.

Monitor distortion

Hey edwardaaron,

If you are encountering any kind of visible distortion on your computer monitor, there are a couple of things that I would suggest.

First, if you have a cathode ray tube (CRT) monitor, you may want to try manually degaussing the monitor. Whenever a CRT monitor is in use, it slowly builds up a magnetic charge that can interfere with its operation. Degaussing then, is the process by which CRT devices rid themselves of this excess magnetic charge. This is normally done whenever a monitor is first turned on, but many monitors will also have either a button on the front control panel you can press or an option in the main menu to perform a manual degauss.

In many cases, the degauss option will be marked with a horseshoe or magnet-shaped picture. Once you've selected this function, you may notice a metallic-sounding "twang" noise, followed by one or two "clicking" noises as the image on the screen is reset. Keep in mind that images on the screen may appear to vibrate and color may distort for a few seconds after you do so, but this is a normal part of the degaussing process. The screen should return to normal after a few seconds.

Second, interference can also be caused by placing your computer speakers too close to the monitor. Many speakers will produce a magnetic field of their own, which only adds to the magnetic field generated by your monitor. In this case, repositioning your computer speakers should help minimize the problem.

If degaussing fails (or you don't have a CRT monitor), you may wish to then test the cable connections to your computer. In some instances, simply replacing your monitor cable will resolve these types of problems.

You may also be encountering a problem where your monitor is simply set on the incorrect refresh rate. If the refresh rate is not correctly set, a monitor may display a "wavy" image or appear as if lines are periodically scrolling across the screen. Without knowing the exact make and model of your monitor however, I would not be able to provide any suggestions on how to change this setting - you would need to contact the manufacturer or refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions.

The worst case scenario would be if you are encountering an actual hardware failure. Both the video card and monitor can cause images to be distorted if they are not functioning properly, and even power supplies have been known to cause other components to sporadically malfunction. If you are unsure how to perform a hardware diagnostic, I would strongly suggest speaking with your local computer repair technician or a Geek Squad® agent at your local Best Buy™ store for further assistance.

Hope this helps you out.

Pc wont boot

Have you recently experienced a power surge or had an electrical (thunder) storm in your area? Potentially your motherboard and/or processor could be toast since the fan running and CD Rom drive opening will continue to function because they receive power separately from the motherboard via the power supply. If you have access to a different compatible processor, you could try to install it in the motherboard to rule out a motherboard failure, otherwise you're looking for a new motherboard.

Monitor going to sleep

Within the control panel select performance and maintenance within that select power options.

Once in there check that the power is set for desktop computer and that never sleep on monitor or Hard disks.

If this doesn't work then press the OSD button on the monitor and scroll through the setting and make sure that there isn't one that is auto sleep mode after and amount of time.

Thanks J
