Re: Playing an Ipod

Ya press src until it gets to standby then hold the menu button until it says menu. then press the toggle button down until you see aux and press the toggle to the right to turn it on and be sure to press menu again to set it.

Re: Playing an Ipod

You should have to hit your SOURCE button and that should change your head unit between CD,FM,AM, and AUX. You will need it on the AUX setting for it to play.

I drive a Freightliner Argosy prime mover with a kenwood tuner. Don't know what model. Can't get my ipod to work although I believe it is supported. How do I get the "AUX" function?

Press and hold B.BOOST button for at least one second. This gets you into the settings menu. Use the rotary control to go up and down until you reach the setting for AUX On/OFF and toggle to on. Now whenever you press the source button AUX should be one of the options displayed. The ipod plugs in using a 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo cable and the input is on the bottom right of the faceplate. This happened to me. What worked was turning off the ipod (not stand by mode). Turn it back on and plug it in, it should work.

My Kenwood KDC-7024 has just started playing up - as soon as you turn on the ignition, the face panel comes down, flicks on for all of 2 - 3 seconds and then closes, it then keeps doing this repeatedly...

It's possible the flexible PCB (more of a cable, really) that connects the faceplate to the main unit has cracks in the conductors. This has been an issue with some of the older Kenwood HUs that have the MASK motorized faceplate. The flex-cable gets bent and pinched enough over the years that it eventually cracks the copper.

Make sure your aux is turned on, and that should be the "source" that you use when playing your ipod.
