How do I install a replacement keyboard for my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop?

Second, go to this link and Download/Install all the Current Updates for Your Model.

Laptop keyboards are really not repairable at all. I often buy replacements on ebay, as they usually are only $15 to $20. Find a seller located in the USA for quicker delivery.

Sounds like something got spilled on it and keys are sticking underneath. Keyboards are quite easy to remove. Check online for help in removing. I suggest you clean it with rubbing alcohol (after it is removed) and spray dry quickly with compressed air. If that dont help then order one online. Tons of dell parts on ebay. Good Luck.

Shutdown.
Borrow a USB keyboard, and connect it.
Restart.
Can you enter from the USB keyboard?
Can you enter from the laptop's keyboard?

This may be due to a an IRQ ( interrupt request) conflict.
2.The hard drive also may not be the correct drive for this PC
3.. check the requirements for this hard drive.
4. check the manufacturer spec. sheet for the hard drives that can be installed in the pc it may need a certain SATA drive.
5. check the PC at the Dell site and see what the laptop comes equipped with and what hard drive are recommended.

You can also pick up the batteries less expensive than most computer places at batteries plus. And yes it sounds as though it is the batteries charge is getting low, especially if it runs fine when the battery is out and you have it plugged in.
