I have two EX-Z57's with a cracked LCD, another with broken battery contacts, a third with a broken lense, the fourth seems to have a PC Board problem (like it was dropped in the ocean - it wasn't me) and so on... Of these five Casios, I probably can make two fully working sets by interchanging various assemblies.
How to replace Lense assembly?
How to replace the LCD assembly?
It looks like the flexi connectors in several places are soldered on?
Am I correct, or are they on a connector that pulls out?

you are correct, casio solders their backlight to the circuit board. If you look at my website: http://digitalcamerarepair.googlepages.com, I have a tutorial for the ex-s500/600, the lcd unit is similar, so you can get an idea of how to change it.
