seems to me by the frost that the inside fan is not blowing air across the cooling radiator (evaporator), due to ice build up impeding air flow or the fan motor stalls or not working a t all. Defrost timer should also be checked if the air flows thru inside the fridge.
check that the temp setting knob has not been turned to zero for the fridge. The light is only to let you see what is inside the fridge and is not an indicator of the fridge working.

turn your control knob all the way off you will feel a click just after 0that is your reset. if that dont work then turn your ridge of at the mainand pull out the plug leave out for 15min then plug it back on.turn your control knob inside the fridge till you hear it clik on if it worksset your knob on 2 in winter 3 summer hope this helps
