What this could be is your bearings check if there is any amount of movement from the drum by opening the door place your palm onto the front of the washer so its on the bodypart of the washer now place your fingers into the washer facing down so you can grab the drum with them now pull up and if there is any movement then its confirmed bearings need replacing m8 get the warranty company out its a big job some companys just replace the washer m8.It will be the bearings though what those black marks are is the grease out of the bearings cause the seal has gone ive done hundreds of bearing jobs let me know how u go on m8

LG fuzzy logic top loader leaves black marks on white. Happens when doing a large wash-eg; blanket -it looks awful. I'm thinking the insides might need cleaning? How is this done and with what product

If this is moldy looking you should use 1 cup of bleach in the drum with no clothes on the longest wash cycle with the hottest water. But I believe this is oil from the drive train and the seals on the bottom of the drum are going bad. When you wash something heavy like the blanket, it leaks.

Inside the front loading door sealing rubber, there is a lot of dirt/black fungus(?), which is difficult to remove, and is at times leaving black-ish deposits on the washing. How can we cure this?

front load machines are known for this problem, you can however pop out ( not completely) the gasket along the rim and clean with a diluted mixture of bleach and warm water to clean off the debris ,, heres a little video that will give you the basics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhpBQTPmyNs

Lg washer leaving black greasy marks on clothes

This is usually to do with fabric softener. Dilute it with more water. The fabric softener makes clots, and these make the marks on your clothing.

Hope it helps

Hi.
The smell will be coming from inside the drum as you summised.
It is probably caused by the drain in need of cleaning, or more likely a build up of dirt and scum on the door seal cased by doing too many low temperature washes.
Check the seal carefully and if it is stained black, then the only real solution is to replace the seal, and do more high temperature washes

at this point and time the best thing to do is replace the door seal.and then make sure after each wash cycle you dry out or leave the door open somewhat in order to help keep it dry and clean

Duet 6hw9150p leaks when i put a full load

Is the door seal dirty?
A dirty door seal can cause a leak. Remove and clean any dirt or deposits around the inner door seal with a damp cloth. The door glass seals against the rubber seal; dirt or deposits can prevent a proper seal and cause leaks.

Zanussi jetsystem 1400 door seal

IF YOU REMOVE THE SEAL UNLESS YOU ARE AN ENGINEER YOU WILL FIND IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO REFIT IT, TO CLEAN OUT THE SLUDGE USE A PLASTIC SCOURING PAD LIKE THE ONES USED FOR CLEANING DISHES. IFTHE SEAL IS BLACK THIS CANNOT BE CLEANED IT IS A CHEMICAL REACTION TO DETERGENTS ETC BUT IS NOT HARMFUL TO ITEMS BEING WASHED HOPE THIS WILL HELP.

Does your washer smell? Is your rubber door seal gungy too?

If so then use 1/2 cup of Washing Soda Crystals (50p for a 1kg bag from most supermarkets)
set washer to 60 degree wash and run machine for full hot cycle with no clothes in it... just the Washing Soda.
I did this with my washer which literally reeked, and my friends have since done theirs and the results are amazing...
Go and check your drain when you finish too... mine sparkles now and it was gunged up before.. I now add a desertspoon of Washing Soda to every wash.... I place it in the crease of the door seal and little by little all the mould is disappearing, even though the hot wash cleaned the gunge the black spots remained. My washer smells so clean now and no more black flecks on the clothes either... (these are loose gunge from the outer drum, right inside the works of your machine...)

All the best
