Your Sim may have done it's days... if another SIM will work in the phone, take your Sim to a Retailer of your Service Provider. Ask them for a SIM Swap, this means you will get a new sim, with your old number.
If you haven't topped up on prepay for a long time or haven't used the phone for a while it may mean your sim has been canceled, this means you may have to go to a store and ask them to make it active again, this may include a top up.
