Re: lexmark x73mfp scanner to windows vista

You can use the Lexmark z42 drivers that come with Vista to make it print but I doubt you could get it to scan. New MFP are a dime a dozen these days so it may be time to upgrade.

Old Lexmark 1200 printer not working with new Dell Studio laptop

you need to go to the " website" and download the new "vista" driver, it was looking for XP, and they are two different programs, also you can go to "control panel", and Open scanners and Printers, and see if the vista "hardware wizard" picks it up, and installs it too, let me know if this helps, god bless......

Just got new computer with windows vista now my lexmark p6250 printer dos

Remember that Vista is about 2 years old; any "new" printer first marketed within the last 2 years probably is not recognized by Vista.

Have you accessed LexMark's web-site, and downloaded and installed the device-driver for Vista for your specific model of printer?

Driver Download for Lexmark X1240 printer on Windows 98

No such thing. The newest driver listed is for Windows 2000 (a different line of product) and XP.

You may -really- find you enjoy a new computer a -lot- more. I got a good one nearly a year ago -- dual processors, 400gb hard drive, 2gb memory, acceptable video card, etc., etc., for $451 with tax.

I have an old computer with Windows ME operating system, will my new LexMark printer/scanner/copier work with it?

You will need to check the Lexmark website and check the model of the printer/scanner that you're using if it has any available drivers for Windows 98/ME. If it does then you shouldn't have any problems installing and using your new printer on an old machine.

I recently bought a new Gateway computer and when I tried to install my canon printer from the disc, it would not install it for me. I have a Canon Oixma MP210 SERIES printer that I bought three months...

You might want to check Canon's website to see if they provide a downloadable driver that will make your printer Vista compatible. Years ago, I had the same problem with an Epson all-in-one when making the jump from Windows 98 to XP. I was able to download and install a driver from Epson that restored most (but not all) of the device's functions.

Installation of a downloaded driver for Lexmark X1290 All-In_One

You need to download the Vista compatible setup here from Lexmark,

Run the setup after it finishes downloading but ONLY connect the printer to the computer when the setup instructs you to do so.

Installation of a downloaded driver for Lexmark X1290 All-In_One

I bought a Lexmark X1290 printer and installed a wrong driver (for WinXP) from the enclosed CD. Then I could not run the All in One program. After many reinstallation attemps, I finally found a solution (which is unfortunately quite hidden at the Lexmark website):

1) Unplug the printer's USB cable from the computer.
2) Download the cleaning utility from
3) Double-click on the cleanup utility and follow the on-screen instructions to run it.
4) Restart the computer.
5) Download all files from
6) Follow the instructions in the "Vista BackDoor Instructions.txt" and delete all remaining Lexmark
keys in the registry.
7) Restart the computer
8) Download a proper driver for Windows Vista from the Lexmark website.
9) Install the driver accordingly to the instructions (it's important to plug the printer's USB cable when you are ask to, not before)

The problem with Lexmark Unistall and CleanUp Utility is that you cannot delete all Lexmark registry keys while you arelogged in the system. This is anellegant way how to circumvent the problem.
