Phillips DVD player won't play discs

My DVD player no longer plays any discs. The disc spins and you can hear a clicking sound and after about 20 secs the disc just stops and an unable to play message appears, this happens on all discs even the cleaning one. I'm guessing the laser/lens must be dirty?
