How can I connect TV female SPDIF output to Logitech Z323 speakers?

SPDIF is digital -you would need to connect to a digital amp before the speakers.

No sound from TV, except when playing video games

Do you have the TV's digital sound output turned on our off. This appears in the sound menu as SPDIF on/off. If it is set to off any sound from the TV's tuner will be sent to the TV's speakers. If it is set to on, the sound from the tuner will be sent to the optical audio output on the back of the TV, which is meant to be used with an AV receiver or amplifier. If you do not use an amplifier it will appear that no sound is coming from the TV when watching broadcast TV.

Lg plasma 50 trying to configure hdmi to play tv sound through panasonic home theater.

You will only be able to use the HDMI if you tv has an output for it(for other things beside built in DVD player of home theatre). It can not be an input. If you want everything that plays through your tv to then play through your home theatre the easiest way is to use white and red composite audio cables(some call them rca cables) More than likely you tv will have this output. They will go from the output of the tv to the input of home theater. If your home theater has a Blu-ray or DVD player you need to use the HDMI from home theatre out to in on the tv. If you tv happens to have and OUTPUT for fiber optic audio or digital coaxle audio on your tv and your home theatre has same but as inputs that will work as well with a better quality sound. However this is very rare.

Hi, i have just bought a bush cht100dvdtb home cinema system and was wandering if i could get the sound through the speakers when just watching tv

owen steve,

I am not familiar with this brand and cannot locate an owners manual for it to see what inputs you have available. Most home theater systems have more than one input and also have various formats which can be input. For example: hdmi, dvi, rca etc. Your owners manual should have several possible setups and one I would think would be hooking your TV up to it. It would require an audio output from the TV but if your TV was made in the last 10 years that should not be a problem. It will probably be a pair of rca jacks. If so, just connect the output of the TV to the input of the surrround system. You should be able to select the input for that signal based on the input you inserted the cables into. When watching the TV you would just switch to the appropriate input.

If your unit only has one input (very unlikely) you could still make it work by running the audio from the DVD to the TV and taking the output of the TV to the cineama system.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

How do i get my tv sound to play using the speakers from my hb405su home cinema instead of using my tv speakers

I assume you have an amp with the speakers. You will need cables connected from tv to surround amp , connect amp output to tv audio input and make sure you select amp for tv feed . then just turn off tv volume so the surround sound takes over.

This tv has no outputs so how can i connect it to my home cinema system

If there is no audio output socket, then you cannot directly connect it to your cinema system unless the Euroconnector carries sound output, some better models do.
Hope this helps.

I have a 37 WLT 68 TV, is it possible to connect

Strictly speaking, no. Your TV has both a line-level audio output, via RCA cables, and a SPDIF (digital audio output) connector (and a headphone jack). Any of these will output a low-level signal into an stereo amplifier or home theater AV receiver. The speakers would be attached to that separate amplifier unit.

Trying to install a new 50

a good way to go is to connect the home cinema kit staight to the tv though phono leads, see if your tv has a phono in and out this must not be a av socket. you should then connect it in to your cinema kit so what ever you watch comes though ur cinema system

hope this helps

37pf7531 tv

If you have a later Philips home cinema model: HTS3100, 3300, 3500, 3154, 3357, 6510 & others, the sound from the TV will go through the existing scart connection.

Just select TV on the home cinema remote control.

For any other models, use a scart - twin phono lead (red & white), from the TV to one of the inputs into the home cinema.

Scarts 1 & 2 on the TV will have different results. Try both.
