I dropped my phone in the toliet.

Yuck! I know. Anyways, Only water was present, I removed it very quickly, dried it off, and then used a Lysol wipe on it. The screens don't work, and it keeps turning itself off. It has been drying out for 2 days.

Try taking the phone apart and laying each piece out to dry for a day. Water really isn't good for you phone and wrecked my last one.

Seems like your lcd and or flex cable might be gone. Also, u may have a short on the board, u probably tried to turn it on and it was still wet. Water damage can cleaned, and the parts are all replaceable. Check my profile as we may be able to help you.

What do you do if your Tracfone gets wet

If it's only on the outside, I'd just wipe it clean.
If it's worse I'd immediately remove the battery, wipe everything down with a towel, and let it dry completely. I'm in a dry location so letting it sit overnight would do it; if you're in a humid environment you might want to put it in a bowl of uncooked rice to absorb the water.

Only after it's completely dry would I put the battery back in and see if it works. If it does, great. If not, then it's time to consider getting a new phone. It's all a matter of how much water got into it and for how long.

The above is for fresh water. If the phone got immersed in salt water, I'd remove the battery, wipe the phone dry, quickly rinse it in fresh water, wipe it dry again, and let it dry completely.

I dropped my sprint instinct in tha toliet taday should i jus let it dry

just remove the battery for a while and let it dry, if you have a blower much better but use it at the back of the unit, not in the front where your LCD is located, keep a distance of atleast 6 inches and not hot, just enough that you can with stand the temperature, move it up and down, spread the air arond the unit, never focus on one part only., wipe your battery then let it cool down also the unit, then try to open it again.

I dropped phone in toliet. Will it ever work

If you immediately put it in a bowl of white rice, it drys it.

But other than that, nope. It probably won't work.

I had the same issue only I actually flushed mine on accident, haha.

Water Damage;Screen is cloudy;Unusuall messages pop up ex. Emergency Download

try this :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.

Screen problems

hi im josh a mobile phne technician i cebu phils. Friend the problem is your phone is wet til right now im sure. Friend don't use alcohol to clean it will not cure instead it will intensify the problem. As my expertice in phone you need to use a thinner lacquer thinner for appliances and for paint. lacquer thinner is a substance that will dry easily and can enter in any slots of the part to push out the  water that can cause rust. and friend thinner will not leave any mark to make rust so it is the safest one. you try to disassemble your phone remove all plastic parts and  rubber parts coz the thinner may damage it. only the metal parts of the phone you sink it in the thinner for at leat 40 mins. then after mins. remove and let it dry under the sun or under the electric fan. for a long time about an hour or more.,then after you assemble the parts.then it will be back the same as new. don't use the battery it cann't be repaired.  good luck that solution is 90% sure and safe. please vote me so that i will know if i helped you.

I drped my phone in toliet

Open as much of it (battery cover, flip open), as you can and remove the battery. Mop dry with tissue/cotton bud for the cracks and then leave on a sunny windowsill for a few days without trying anything else. Then reassemble, recharge and give it a go.
