Skype stops responding after video is started, and freezes. When trying to use the webcam afterwards it gives an error message saying the webcam is busy by annother application.

I installed the webcam and the crockpot stuff they force you into downloading as well. The video worked on their veide whatever the thing is called, but didnt work after i changed the audio settings. Before I changed them you could hear everything becuase the microphone was picking up everything and I could not shut it off from the micro itself so I went into the settings and tried to change it and it froze up my whole computer leaving partial screens up and then when we did a hard shut down it will sit on a sign in for windows that we never had before

Normal 0 How much memory do you have installed in your computer? It may need to be, increased, as this is likely to be the cause of your computer freezing, rebooting, times out, or shutting down.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

How to use Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 Webcam with Skype

well once you have the microsoft webcam software installed..
that is the first step then to go to skype and in skype it will have you set up the video and audio upon first use...
iff you have already past first use.. then when you make a call with skype as long as the software is installed then skype will automatically detect this and use it as the default recording device and it searches also for microphones automatically...
so really not much for you to do, once the microsoft webcam is installed then skype setup takes care of the rest...

The webcam freezes my computer

You could test it by using msn or something, and If it freezes on msn you know it isn't skype, But I think your system would be heaps to run it.

I have no video Iam on skype and It freezes

You can try reinstalling the webcam drivers and.or skype. The installation sequence can matter.
If it still does not work, consider using a webcam sharing software, like SplitCam.

My video freezes about every 20 seconds i have to keep restarting

Could be a bandwith issue, but also try reinstalling Skype.
Sometimes downgrading to an older Skype version can also help.

You may be running out of memory to run the camera. Make sure you have the minimum number of programs running in order to make available the maximum amount of resources your computer has to run the camera.
