Blue tint to picture

I have connected my DVD player to my reciever through a HDMI cable and then I have a HDMI cable to DVI cable out to my projector and the picture is VERY blue on the screen. I also tried the same setup from my HD cable box and the same blue tinted picture. When I connected components with Component calbes the picture was no longer tinted blue. Please Help. Thanks

I am in the normal mode for the projector picture. I made sure it wasn't set to cool or warm mode. What I really found puzzling was that the picture was normal using component cables and only blue with the hdmi cable. I also checked the stereo video output and it was set to the correct settings.

Hi Genaro,

Sounds like an issue with the HDMI HDCP content protection. I do not think it will be possible to connect using a DVI to HDMI cable.

The Sharp XR-30X will display 720P and 1080i. The Blu-Ray player is trying to send 1080P which requires a handshake. It sounds like you might have to go into the Blu-Ray player and tell it to use 1080i.

DVI-HDMI not working with Sanyo Z2

HD comes as 720p and 1080p - the Sanyo will cope with 720 but not 1080 full HD - check the specs in the manual. You should have a DVD output setting for screen mode.

Connecting Projector to High Def Source (e.g. PS3 HDMI)

That projector supports M1-D also which is the digital side of the M1-DA... Anyway, they sell cables that are M1-D to HDMI to which you can hook directly to the PS3. They are decently priced too, less than $20. I know this thread is old, but I came across it due to an issue I am having with my xb31, broken color wheel. Trying to find parts...

No input detected on projector

it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.
