I have run into a similar problem on my Zen Xtra. When it is turned on the device freezes on EAX and won't do anything (not even turn off). Any additional guidance would be appreciated.

Clicks when switched on, stops after a while, screen says reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

Your machine can't find the boot sector of the hard drive. This could be because there is a cd/dvd in the drive or the BIOS has the wrong boot sequence assigned.

How do you run CHKDSK /F with the blue screen stop error on my desktop?

You MUST have a boot device like CD, DVD, or USB. Use the install disc to access command prompt, by choosing the repair option. You could also download and burn a boot CD like Hirens.

The other option is to remove the drive and attach it as a slave or USB to another computer.

E-machine gets the blue screen that says.....stop 0x0000007E(0xC0000005, 0x8053A593) what does this mean

A registry error or device driver is causing this. Attempt a boot to safemode by tapping f8 after the computer boot logo screen and before the windows logo screen.

if you can't boot to safemode then try the same key sequence but select "last known good configuration". If this does not work, then you will have to repair reinstall the operating system.

if you can get in safemode or last known config, make sure to run a spyware/virus check if you didnt' install any programs, devices or used a registry cleaner like CCleaner

Hello: I have a computer running Windows XP Media Edition SP2. Several weeks ago, I started experiencing boot up problems with my computer. It stops booting in normal mode. It will boot in safe mode. When...

It looks like you installed the wrong drivers for your motherboard.  It can cause a Blue Screen Of Death.  Also how many hard-drives do you have in that computer?  IDE?  Are the jumpers set to CS?  I find that CS causes problems.  If you have 2 devices on a ribbon cable make one master w non ATA   and the second device as slave.  Also the boot.ini could be confused.  Is the boot.ini on the wrong hard-drive   Did you accidentally put 2 operating systems on the same computer?  lots of things could have caused this.

My sidekick 3 just stays at a white screen with the 4 bottons

Sidkekick 3 stops booting with the 4 Danger icons on a white screen

1) Remove the battery from your device
2) Flip open the screen
3) with the battery removed, press and hold the W key on the keyboard. Press and hold it and don't let go until I say so. :)
4) Put the battery in (you're still holding "W" right? Good). This is a little tricky to do but you can do it.
5) Keep holding W! :)
6) The device will boot to a screen that has a picture of a SK with Xs for eyes and stars spinning around it's head, like it's been clonked on the head. When you see this, you can let go of the "W" key.
7) After a few more seconds you'll see a screen that says "Sorry! Please restart your device by selecting the Reboot button. If this screen appears again, contact Customer Care."
8) Click the Reboot button on the screen, and hope for the best.

This *might* fix your problem. If it doesn't, there's no point in repeating the steps, just call customer care and have them replace your device. However, a lot of times I've seen an SK3 stuck on that screen, those steps above will fix it.

It's not a workaround, it's a fix. If that fixes it you won't have to worry about your device having a problem, because it won't have a problem anymore.

The only thing this "fix" will help with is if your device stops booting with the 4 Danger icons on a white screen. That's it. It won't do any other magical fix for any other problem. It's really *not* worth the time and hassle to try to use this trick to fix anything else, because if your device boots at *all* past those 4 icons, then this fix, she will do nothing. :)

IBM T20,inaccessible boot device

The Innaccessable Boot Device message means one of 2 things:

1: your hard drive has died - not much here, must replace drive.

2: The master boot record has become corrupt. Without any media, this will be hard to fix. You will need to boot to the Windows CD and either run the recovery console or perform a windows repair to fix this issue.
