Re: rival crockpot, power problem

I have one that did the same thing. I found that if I tapped the control box on the front, it would shut off. I took it apart and resoldered all of the connections on the circuit board. I also found a wire that was being piched by the cicuit board; causing the circuit board to bend. I moved the wire to prevent future bending. The bending probably caused a solder joint to fracture. After doing both of these things it appears to work. e-mail me with any questions.

Add more liquid. If it is still getting too hot, check to see if it has a temperature knob on it somewhere, if not, you can release some of the heat by removing the lid slightly to let steam and heat release from it as it cooks

Your crockpot heat unit is overheating. Return it to the store you purchased it at or contact the manufacturer. My Rival did that and I contacted the company and they sent me a new one.

Rival 38601 Smart Pot 6-Quart Slow Cooker can't get to to go to warm

Here is the manual for this cooker; page E4 and E5 tells you details of programming/timer/temperature. Check through everything and see if you can figure anything out. after cooking, the unit should automatically switch to warm mode, if it isn't doing this then unfortunately i think it needs a replacement control board - probably not worth doing. If you want to give it a try then post again and we can try and source you the bits Hope this helps :)

We have their 6 quart Crock Pot. Same problem cited here!

We have found that, if you press both the (Low/High/Warm) AND the (Off) buttons at the same time, the controls will revert to the proper state. It has worked for us on several occasions so we trust it and have found no "adverse results"!

Hope this is a help to others.......
