Re: Balance

No washer will stay balanced.
but if the feet on the bottom are not solid on the floor. or the rubber feet have degraded/hardened it will bang the washer side to side with all loads.
if you can lean on the washer while it is spinning and that quietens the noise then it needs the feet adjusted or replaced.

Washers will not stay on

the switch that activates when out of balance is the same switch as the lid switch and it is activated by a small lever
if the out of balance was really bad ,that lever can get on the wrong side of the lid switch and keep it as if the lid is open

check to make sure the levelling legs are locked into place. once levelled, there is a nut that needs to be cranked up to teh case to prevent them from coming loose again

Check the owner's manual for the reset switch. You can always Google your unit for support, too.

2 problems smell and alwys out of balence

I leave the front load door open now between washes and that musty odor has gone away. As for the shaking, since I live in a mobil home I reinforced the floor and use the next to highest spin setting. My ultimate solution for all my LG W/D problems is going to be to sell the home and let the LG W/D set go with it.

Kenmore washing machine

If its out of balance when empty, the most common problem for this brand is the mount or the spring on 1 of the 3 stabilizing struts has come off. pull the shell off the machine and look for a spring or screw that has come off. Replace.
