Question about Canon EOS-20D Body only Digital Camera

Canon 20D strong blue cast to pictures

Any idea why P, Tv, and Av modes would suddenly record pictures with a strong blue cast to them? The other modes (auto, portrait, landscape, macro and sports) are continuing to record with correct color tones. No errors, happens with any lens, and I'm not using filters.

Re: Canon 20D strong blue cast to pictures

You probably have the White Balance set to a setting other a
than "Auto White Balance" (AWB). On the top of the camera, above the exterior LCD panel, there is the "AF-WB" button. Turn the camera on--past "on" to the bent line. Press the AF-WB button once. On the left side of the exterior LCD panel there is a vertical, reticular box with the symbol of the selected setting for WB. Normally, the setting should be set to AWB. If it is not, turn the command dial at the back of the camera until "AWB" is showing. Try shooting again-the color should be better.

In the "auto" modes (green box, portrait, landscape, etc) the AWB is automatically set. In the "advanced" modes (P,Tv, etc) the WB is manually set for whatever light source you are using. The command dial may have been accidently turned to different setting. Hope this helps.

I have a canon powershot a630. It suddenly won't take pictures in auto mode. Orange light in front stays lit and arrow on display screen flashes. It will take pics in some other modes (P, Tv, Av,...

See this blog article. If you don't notice any gaps, and tightening all the loose screws doesn't help, then the next likely problem is the flash unit itself is burned out. If so, this would require professional repair to correct.

My Canon G11 - most indoor pics have a strong yellow-orange hue. What can I do to correct this or is the camera broken?

Light from ordinary light bulbs has a strong yellow-orange cast, which our eyes tend to adjust for without thought. Check the white balance setting on your camera. This is to adjust the camera for the color of the light, to try to make white come out white, hence the name "white balance." Set the white balance to incandescent (light-bulb icon) for indoor shooting under light bulbs, or to automatic to let the camera take its best attempt.

Try experimenting with the white balance setting. Taking pictures in bright sunlight with the incandescent setting will give your pictures a very blue cast, making things look a little colder. There are other settings, such as flourescent.

Why black and white pictures are coming frm my camera when it is in p mode or tv mode or av mode?

P, TV and AV are non-automatic modes and can be setup to shot how you want. To remove the Monochrome from this just press the Picture Style button and select Standard (the Picture Style button is the one just under SET).

You may have the white balance set incorrectly. If so, set it to "auto white balance".

Canon SD 550-- sensor problem? Bought 3/2006 and have had no problems. Suddenly, LED screen went black--shows nothing and cannot take a picture altho will flash and record black picture. Shooting...

The shutter of the camera is not opening that is why every picture taken is recorded black. It is a mechanical problem and probably has nothing to do with the sensor. Not very expensive

"busy" Error

check your firmware version and update if necessary. Usually you get the "busy" message when your camera is writing to the card and it's possible the card isn't quite right - a format should fix it. Alternatately you might try a different CF card to see if the problem goes away. Good luck!
