The words on the screen are in German. How do we change it to English?

• Press TOOLS (the spanner icon in the bottom right of the screen with WHERE TO and VIEW MAP)
  
• Press SETTINGS (The spanner icon) or LOCALE (the blue icon) whichever your satnav has
• Press LANGUAGE (the lips icon)

This takes you to a screen with 3 items on it; VOICE, TEXT LANGUAGE and KEYBOARD

Press VOICE and select the name of an English speaking person to change the voice instructions to English.
Press TEXT LANGUAGE and change it to English or American English if you're in the USA

The TEXT LAGUAGE should be showing DEUTCH beside it (the German word for German)

This should solve your problem

• On the page that shows WHERE TO and VIEW MAP press TOOLS (the spanner symbol at the bottom right corner)
• Press SETTINGS (The spanner symbol) or LOCALE (The blue symbol) on models that don't have a settings icon
• Press LANGUAGE (the lips symbol)
• There are 3 items on this screen; VOICE, TEXT LANGUAGE and KEYBOARD
• To change the voice language to English press VOICE and select an English speaking voice
• To change the text language press TEXT LANGUAGE and select English, or American English if you're in the USA

If the text language is already in German you probably won't know which is voice, text and keyboard. The German word for German is Deutch so when you see this beside one of the items you'll know this is the one to change the text language. This should solve your problem.

You will have to check 2 settings. First one. Tap on the screen. Tap on change preferences. Tap on the arrow 3 times. You should be on page: Preferences 4 of 6 by now. Tap on change language. Tap on English US. Tap on Yes.

Since its in german.. You may need to use google translate to translate the german to english just so you know what screens in german match with the screens listed above.

Format your laptop using English Windows Installer.

First of all the language was Finnish and not German. I managed to get a translation from Finnish to english for the word  kieli (Language).  Then i went to the system menu and selected kieli, then englanninkieli then pressed enter, this changed the language to english. I did not have to do a factory reset. Thank you for your trouble.

you are also given the opportunity to change the voice.

go in the menu if its in german lock the word in german for language go in it select english there you go pierre
