Question about HP Photosmart C6100 All-In-One Printer

HP C6100 Wireless printer has stopped working

I used to previously print over my wifi network to my wireless HP Photosmart C6100 printer. However, I had not printed anything for a few weeks and suddenly, when I tried to print yesterday, it did not work at all. I do not understand why. I restarted my computer and the printer (seperately) twice. Sometimes restarting works.
I also ran the troubleshooting for the printer but they don't have any useful advice.
Can you please help?

    I have the same problem -- I had the printer set up to work with my wireless network, and it worked fine for awhile. Suddenly, a few months later, it just stopped. The printer says it's connected, but when trying to print something, my computer says there's an error with the printer after trying to print for a few minutes.

    My wireless printing capability just stopped. I have re-installed the printer and I actually also tried all the steps on the troubleshooter.

    It says "This Document failed to print" after a few minutes. It was working fine a while ago.

The HP C6100 series has had some ip setting issues. One day my printer didn't print. I checked the ip settings on the printer and got some 648.154.1.654 address. I had no clue where this ip number came from, because my router's ip is I went into the settings of my printer and set my ip settings manual. Then I went into the router settings and reserved the ip setting I previously setting on the printer to the printers MAC address. I also set static ip address for each computer on my network. This network response issue started about one year after I purchased the printer. I still lose connection every once in a while, but rebooting the router reconnects the printer and everything sitting in the que to print starts to print. To stablize the issue: upgrade router firmware, set static ip address on your network devices, reserve those ip address in your router, , if all else fails reboot router.

I went through three steps that solved the problem.

1. Make sure you are not using a com port, but are using the hp printer port under the printer set up tab and,

2. Turn off the computer, unplug the router, unplug the cable box. Wat 1 minute. Plug in the cable box, plug in the router, turn on your computer.

3. Run the wireless setup wizard on the printer.

That solved it for me, I hope it helps you, too. Good luck.

Try checking the IP addess of your printer and then reset the IP set in the printer dialog box for the printe on your computer. This can be found by right clicking oing to properties then Port Settings

I had the same problem, and then realized it was because I had changed my wireless router. Going back to the old router fixed it.

I have the same problem exactly!  when I look at how the print is going it gets to around 14% complete and nothing happens. It was working fine and I went away for  few days and cannot now print anything - HELP!!!

Hp C6180 all in one will not connect to wireless laptop

when the printer is on is there on your pc/laptop a wifi signal checking your wifi signals. then using the wifi code off the printer put the code in and connect. and then the printing should be allowed. and that laptop/pc is the controler. i had to do this with mine and its been fine since.

Cannot get my laptop to scan, it does print, wireless

Have you tried using the scanner wizard within windows? Sometimes this will work dispite HP solution center not working. Also have you tried just using the scan button from the printer?

I bought my daughter an HP photosmart D110 Series printer for xmas. I set it up here at home using wireless, not USB, and it worked great. Now when she gets to her apartment which also has wireless, we...

start new,
use the D110 full setup instructions from scratch.
install the software from HP.
then on some printers, like mine, the USB way works or wifi
if you set it up to wifi , usb is dead.
and the reverse.
so must be reset , per the manual to get it the way you want.
it is a very complex device, this all in one e-printer

wifi, is complex.
first the user must know the routers settings to make it connect.
but some times you have no access to that router, due to owners
are ISP or landlord.
to use wifi , i must force my router to use a fixed IP (reserved)
or will not connect , reliably, the manual covers this too.
use the HP install package,

rule 2:
NOTE: If the printer is connected with a USB or Ethernet cable, the printer cannot connect wirelessly.

click does not maintain wireless....., seen here.

it tells you to run the hp print and scan doctor there.

My HP c6100 is logged into my wireless network, but does not work when I send information to print over the wireless network.

Fortunately i have a slightly similar model and the issue that happened to me when i tried printing wirelessly was my firewall was blocking the printing, but even after disabling software, it would still not work, so i uninstalled and reinstalled and set it up wirelessly again while having my internet security disabled...
at the end of setup the printer worked fine wirelessly..
there are easier way but this is the more permanent way to resolve for the simple way call the manufacturer tech support they will have some more quick steps to try...

Iam trying to set up a photosmart D7360 to work in my home for all PCs so I'd like to set it up wireless. I'm currently using a router. How do I start? I have a brand ne HP lap top and the photosmart is in...

HP Photosmart D7360 is Not completely Wireless Capable, However if you want to make it Wireless, You will have to use HP bt450 Bluetooth Wireless.

However since this printer has Ethernet Port, you can still make this printer wireless.

You will have to connect this printer thru Ethernet cable ( network cable ) to Router ( this is called wired networking )

Once you have connected the printer to Router, insert the disk in CD Drive and start the installation process, It will prompt you to choose the type of Connection, Choose Wired/Wireless Network and continue with further installation to complete.

How this works,
With any PC that is connected Wireless to Router, You will be able to print wireless from the PC to Printer.

HP Photosmart All in one Printer Wireless printing problem

try reset printer network settings and test again, and check for any high power electronics, nearby printer. because the magnectic fied is a wireless wall that reduces wireless signal.

Cannot print with wirelessly networked printer


if printing from 2 other computer works fine, will i think its not an issue of IP address which changes somehow. but anyways, try to check if you still have other printer drivers under "PRINTERS" (see control panel). it should say HP Photosmart c6100 series. If you also have there a printer icon that says HP Photosmart c6100 series Copy1, try using it (right click on that icon and choose Set as Default Printer). If you only have HP Photosmart c6100 series under PRINTERS, try to right click, then choose properties. When Properties box is open, click on PORTS tab. then click on configure ports below. Try to type in the IP address of the printer under "Printer Name or Host name or IP address". make sure that you already printed network configuration page to get the exact ip address of the printer, Dont know how to print? do this.

1. press setup, then scroll down and look for Network.
2. press okay on network, it will give you the first option "VIew network settings".
3. press okay on it, and it will give you the first option "Print network configuration page."
4. choose that and press okay. it will print the network config page. from this document, you will be able to see the IP address of the printer.

Please let me know if the issue is still not resolve so that i can go ahead and give you another possible solution.
