pwr comes in, goes thru fuse to transformer which powers pcb and mag. pcb is not getting pwr. chk ur installation and the output from the transformer

This high voltage powers the magnetron which emits the energy that cooks the food. If the diode burns out, a lower A/C voltage reaches the magnetron, which is not sufficient to power the magnetron. When the diode fails it is often visibly burned out. If it appears to be good, it can be tested with a volt-Ohm meter capable of testing diodes. High voltage diodes frequently fail and are one of the most common points of failure in a microwave oven. A regular meter with a diode checker will not work to check these diodes. You have to use a meter with a 9 volt battery or put a 9 volt battery in series with the diode to check it.

If the microwave does not heat, one of the door switches might be defective. Microwave ovens normally have three door switches, if any of them fail the microwave does not turn on and does not heat. Check the switches for continuity with an Ohm meter.





Magnetron

If the microwave oven doesn't heat the magnetron tube might have burned out. The magnetron uses high voltage, high current DC power to generate the microwave frequency that cooks the food. Sharp convection microwave oven model R1875F. It's cooking on the left side faster then the rest of the oven. It seems to burn on the left side and not cook in the middle.

Limited heat power


It sounds like the transformer is shorting out on you but is not completely shorted.It will be shorting out on the output side of the transformer.this will give you a lower output level,and will cause the microwaves to be weaker.(less turns of wire in the secondary of the transformer).The short will probably get worse.Simply replacing the transformer should cure the microwave.

Seems like Power supply burned up


If the high voltage transformer is fried, the high voltage capacitor or clamp diode may be at least partially shorted (causes transformer overload). Usually this blows a fuse immediately to prevent a transformer burnout. Arcing in the oven waveguide or cavity, or a magnetron fault could also have been the cause. It would probably be a good idea to replace the magnetron controller relay also; it probably was overloaded.

Given the price of the replacement parts, your best bet would be to find a similar unit at an electronics recycling place and combine good parts to get a working oven. The keypad on your oven is worth something since keypad failure is common in that particular line.

Hi, You may want to try to check/troubleshoot the PCB underneath the display/control panel. The mains do supply two circuitries: the heavy load and the electronics. In some units, they have a standard transformer while in others an SMPS that supplies the +5 (and sometimes +12 or higher) voltage. This powers the electronics which includes a microcontroller, timer, relay drivers and display panel. Trace the transformer/SMPS and look for any fusible link, secondary fuse or surface mounted fuse. More often than not, there are also standard components along the way like bride diode, diode, filter capacitor and regulator IC. Check for VDC input and output of power components.
