Re: Help me

If you have a CD/DVD utilities enclosed in your computer you should install that to eliminate problems in your system. However if you don't have then tell me the model of your e-machine so that i can search the driver for you to download. thanks.

We have purchased two e950Sw LED 18.5 monitors to replace the crt monitors on two of our computers. Old monitors worked fine. Both of these monitors when hooked up get the "No signal" message....

Your old monitors might have had a higher screen resolution or and incomparable resolution for your new monitors.
Probably the easiest way to get them to work is to plug the old monitors in then go to your control panel / display and set the resolution to 1366 x 768 as this is the native resolution of the e950Sw LED.

Trying to run too many programs at the same time can cause display problems such as jittery or choppy video. If you notice erratic or reduced visual performance on your computer, try one or more of the actions described below.

1.The more programs you have open, the more system resources Windows needs. Try closing programs that you're not currently using, or reducing the window size.

2.Even if you have only a few programs running, some programs (such as video-editing programs) and features (such as high-definition television) use a lot of system resources. Running too many of these programs at the same time puts a strain on system resources and might degrade display quality or make video appear jittery or disconnected.

On some computers, very high resolution require a lot of system resources to display properly. If you notice problems at high resolutions, try lowering the resolution until the problems disappear.

1 open display from control panel

  1. In the left pane, click Adjust resolution.

  2. In the Resolution list, click the resolution you want, and then click Apply.

If you set the DPI higher than 96, and you're running the Aero desktop experience, the text and other items on the screen might appear blurry in some programs that aren't designed for high-DPI display. To avoid this problem, follow these steps:

I am using ubuntu 10.04 linux operating system ,but it,s screen resolution is not good .is there any possibility to download and install any vga drivers to get better resolution

Go to System, on the top bar, then Preferences and select Monitors.
On the Monitor Preference screen there will be different resolution settings that you can choose.
If there are any resolution settings higher than 800X600 like 1024X768 etc. select it and apply.

If there is no other settings available go to System then Administration and select Additional driver.
When the Additional drivers screen appears check if it recommends a a driver to be downloaded.
If it does, download the driver and then you will be able to get higher screen resolutions.

If there is no additional driver to download it gets a bit tricky.
You will need to edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
The file will look someting like this:

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Philips 190S"
ModeLine "1280x1024" 108.0 1280 1328 1440 1688 1024 1025 1028 1066 +hsync +vsync
Option "PreferredMode" "1280x1024"
Option "DPMS"
HorizSync 30-82
VertRefresh 56-76
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
Monitor "Philips 190S"
Device "Default Device"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Depth 8
Modes "1280x1024" "1152x864" "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600" "720x400" "640x480"

SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" "1152x864" "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600" "720x400" "640x480"

Section "Module"
Load "glx"

Section "Device"
Identifier "Default Device"
Driver "nvidia"
Option "NoLogo" "True"

It will be wise to make a backup of this file if you are going to edit it. (xorg.conf.old)
Inside the file you will see your screen and its resolution. (Preferred mode)
You need to change the resolution, save the file and restart your session.
If all went well your resolution will be set to what you specified, if your display freaks out replace the xorg.conf file with the xorg.conf.old file.

Hope one of these options solves your problem!

My webcam is not working.i can't buy other webcam because my webcam is attached to my laptop on upper portion of the monitor.pls help me to recover my teacher said its because of the virus coz my...

Dont worry just follow the easy steps
Steps to solve the webcam problems The very first step is of course to check your webcam connection. Most webcams use the USB port to connect to the PC, so check if your USB cable is properly plugged. For build-in webcams this steps does of course not apply. Many new laptops have a build-in webcam. Also try connecting your webcam directly to your PC instead of through a USB hub (if you are using one).
The next thing is to do is to check your Windows Device Manager and see if the hardware is recognized and installed properly.
It might be that the hardware is recognized as a camera, but the right drivers are not installed. The yellow explanation mark will indicate a problem.
windows-xp-other-device.jpg If the device is not recognized in Windows XP, it will be listed under Other Devices.
windows-vista-device-error.jpg In either case you can try to update the drivers. Right-click the device, and in the popup menu select Update Driver Software. Then follow the instructions on screen, but make sure you allow Windows to search the web for updated drivers.
In case no driver for the webcam can be found, you can try a third party driver finding program that scans your PC for installed hardware and allows you to install missing drivers.
If this fails, the next step would be to uninstall the software that came with your webcam. Use the Add or Remove Programs feature in the Control Panel. If that does not work you can use a third party uninstaller.
After uninstalling the software, restart your PC and then reinstall the webcam software. In most cases this will solve the problems. Depending on the software, you might need to unplug your webcam during the software installation.
If the drivers and webcam software are correctly installed, and you still cannot see any video, there can be a problem with the program settings. Most chat and meeting software have a configuration option to select the video source for the webcam feature. If you have multiple devices that qualify for video, you might need to select your webcam device as the source for the webcam feature in that program.
Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c – Windows Vista: DirectX 10).
Lastly, if your webcam’s image is not sharp, check to see if it has a focus ring. A blurry image can sometimes simply mean the webcam is not in focus. Adjusting the focus through the ring can solve that problem.
Other picture quality problems with webcams can be addressed by changing the video capture properties for the webcam. Most programs that can use a webcam will have an option to access the properties of the video source, which will bring up the video capture properties window.
video-capture-properties.jpg Do keep in mind that not all settings will be enabled depending on the webcam and the webcam driver installed on your computer. In the example you can see that some settings are disabled. The example shows the video capture properties for an Acer Crystal Eye webcam.

Looking for Solutions to convert JPEG files to text files?

You will have the use a OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software and you would have to have a pretty clear image I think (text being clearly visible).
The simplest free version that comes to mind is that you print the jpeg and then scanned it on the scanner. (most scanners have the option of OCR for the document you're scanning).
