Re: Ice maker not making ice

The fill tube could be frozen. Gently use a hairdryer. If not you have to check the fill valve coil in the back to see if it's getting power. If it is replace the valve. if not check wiring connections etc. If there's no power out of the Im to the valve, replace the IM

Not making ice

There are several possibilities for this and the dual water control valve is one of the possible problems. Try pouring tap water into ice maker tray if no cubes are present. Allow it to freeze and if the cubes drop then the water control valve part Click Here=> 2188542-1 Then you have a possibility that the ice maker thermostat is at fault item number 27 in photo here=> 627985 Ice Maker Thermostat Sometimes the problem is located inside ice maker and buying new makes it more worth the cost than the cost of replacement parts. Looks like water dripping from frezzer, but there isn't an ice maker hooked up in the freezer. top refridge shelf covered with water and ice

you have a blocked drain.i use a steamer to clear the drain, they cost around 50 bucks, take off the back wall.melt out ice with hair dryer, crack out as much ice that you can with plyers or hammer, gently hit it and it will crack out if the floor is a sheet of ice and a putty knife comes in handy, when you melt out and remove ice stick the tip of steamer in drain and clean the drain out,hit it for 10 seconds then stop wait a minute and hit it again, you don't want to damage the drain line it's plastic so take your time, pour hot water down drain to make sure it's clear you might have to use hair dryer and heat up the inside of ceiling in the fridge section in the middle of back wall and ceiling where the drain is, the air ducts are there also, whenwater stops dripping you'll know you melted all the ice, good luck

GE refridge icemaker won't work

The ice maker unit give the command to the water valve to relese water for a short time.
you cna check with volt meter on the water volve that got the pip go to the ice maker unit if it getting 120V for short time when the fingers of the ice maker making full round.
if you get 120v the problem is the valve (the ice maker and the water have difrent water path so its difrent valve used) if you dont get 120v or the fingers of the ice maker not turning then its your ice maker unit need to be replace.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Too much water is being dispensed when filling to make ice cubes. Water pours into ice bin and freezes. What to do?

You have to close the water supply tap from the source a little. This will decrease the volume of water being pumped into the ice maker. If this doen't work then you need to replace the solenoid valve that feed the water to the ice maker.

Ice maker is not making water to tray, maker motor works

there may be a sensor in the bin where the ice cubes drop into. It tells the ice maker when the bin is full so it stops making ice. Check to see if that sensor got bumped or moved or needs to be reset

Ice maker isn't getting water. Water works on door, and line from ice maker has water in it, just not all the way to the ice maker

Icemaker is probably bad. If ice is in mold it is bad. If not, pour some water in it and see if it drops cubes after a few hours. If it does then fill spout to i/m must be frozen up- thaw it out. Common for i/m to go bad. Please contact me if you need further help or leave feedback if appropriate as that is how I get paid. Thanks for letting me help you!
