You should change the optical eye now.
or you can change the setings on the optical eye, by adjustting the trimpot/variable resistor where you can find the optical eye (beside the optical eye). change it a little bit, but I dont know if its clockwise or counterclockwise. its up to you.
hope I helped you.

yes.. it always happen. I had changed many dvd/vcd/cd. all I can say is, we should never put any dvd/vcd/cd dics with scratches and this causes to worn out the optical eye easily.

just unplug your unit then open it. you can see the disc tray, then there are 4 screws at the sides connecting to the body of the unit, unscrew them up and flip upside down the disc tray, you will see the optical lens. find for a way how to take the optical lens off, disconnect the ribon, be careful of the ribon, then change it, put it back, but identify your optical lens for some difference, sometimes there is a lock or soldered part on some connection, (if you bought a new one) find it and take it off.

Why does a CD player skip? They don't scratch as easily as vinyl LPs, but I've damaged half a dozen CDs over the years. If a CD is skipping, first give it good clean using a CD wipe or mild soap and water. Dry carefully with a lint-free cloth in a straight line from the centre to the edge. What makes the cd skip after about 45 to 60 seconds into a song each dc in each slot does it, than a message CD ERROR lights up in the dash how do i fix this its the origional cd player in trunk &am

sounds to me like the lens assembly can't move freely all the way on the slider when reading discs. This will require you to open the cd changer unit completely to get to the lens assembly. When you get to it, check if there is anything jamming the lens from moving and the sliders, like part number labels that came unglued, screws that fell out, plastic pieces that broke, or even just leaves and branches and such. If everything is clear, then probably the sliders just need some oil and because of lack of lubrication, the lens assembly jams. Just regular sewing machine or electric motor oil will do the job quite nicely. If you don't feel like opening it yourself, you can always bring it to an electronics repair store to have it fixed. Other than that the only option would be to change the cd changer unit altogether. Hope this helps :)

Hi Skipping problem with a NAD C545BEE, plays OK for 1 minute, then skips randomly wthin the track, then will skip to different tracks on the CD, like fast forwarding. No problems with the disc themselves

hi
There is a diode in the power supply which gives dc supply to the laser focusing coil driver ic . if the diode get faulty this problem can occur. Just replace all the rectifier diodes in the power supply stage. Its better than searching for the exact one. then check the cd player is it skips the tracks. if then also its skips the tracks then you have to change the laser pickup unit.
ok

Song Skipping

This may not be the player. It is possible it is the rip software or the cd it self or the cd player. Check the mp3 in another program, see if it has the same problem. If it is in the player only, see Sandisk's web support for their solution. -

My mothers Teac DC-2831 skips when playing cds. We have used cd cleaning disc, and even compressed air. Nothing! What can we do? If we have to take it to a repair shop, can you give us one in the Los...

My DC-2831 started doing the same thing -- and continued, despite repeated cleaning with a CD-player cleaning disc. Oddly, older CDs would play OK, but brand new ones -- commercial CDs, not homemade -- would promptly begin skipping or lock out altogether. Solution?

Unplug the system, lock the turntable stylus arm into place with the attached C-clamp, then carefully unscrew the back and side panels. Once the innards are exposed, gently lift out the CD-player and visually inspect it for hidden dust, pet dander, even fur can get inside there and gum up the works, and that's something NO CD-cleaning kit can ever reach.

Once you've inspected and cleaned the CD-player of all visible dust and dirt, carefully replace the player, make sure it's seated properly within the shell, then reattach the side and back panels in the exact reverse order as you removed them. THIS IS CRUCIAL: if you don't put the stereo back together in the exact reverse of how you took it apart, you'll have components off-kilter, screws that won't go back in (and leftover screws are a sure sign you're screwed it up!) and your CD-player will be even more temperamental than ever. Word to the wise.

If all this sounds too scary, then you'll have to either live with the crappy CD-playing performance, or get a new system. You can't replace the CD-player unless you buy an entire new system. WARNING: these all-in-one turntable systems are VERY RARE anymore, so don't get mad and kick your TEAC or toss it out or give it away on a whim. You'll play hell trying to find a replacement.

Hope this helps!

I had a rca system similar to this little different. It's a problem you'll find in any cd player after awhile. You'll need to replace the laser. It's quite easy google for some instructions to replace a cd laser. Look around for a laser that can read cd's and cd r and cd rw and you'll be ok. The disassembling might be a bit tuff but it's worth it. I had to replace my hifi laser and after i did sound was incredible again no skipping. Make sure when opening your system you power it on and unplug it to make sure all charge is gone wait 30 minutes or so before you go and operate.
