Question about Dell W4201C 42 in. Plasma HDTV
I have a 42" plasma purchased in early 2005. The TV powers up and works fine until it warms up, at which point the screen gets staticy and zig zag lines on it. Any ideas on what could be causing this and how I can fix it?
The power board needs to be inspected. you need a t20 torx bit, and phillips screwdriver. do not work on unit around carpet. stay away from carpet.you need a digital multimeter as well. remove back cover, and set meter to VDC. take black probe, and stick in one of the upper holes. look at the top right of the panel for a white sticker. this gives the proper voltage readings. on the power board, located middle top (big bd) look for the vs, vset, va, vsc settings on pow bd with red probe, test each one for proper voltage if 2 or more mismatches, the power bd needs replaced. do a ebay search for bd id number located on bd or simply type dell 4201 power bd.
