Re: Powerhead does not work and the light doesn't work....

Some of these has a reset button to push on the powerhead. Check the plug at the end of the hose handle, is it pushed in, if you push on it and it goes further in, then the tube in the handle will have to be replaced, the holding tab broke off of the tube. Pull the wand off and look at the prongs to see if they are burnt. it they are, then that power cord will have to replace as well as the want.

The powerhead on my Hoover Duros will not keep running. If I push the on/off switch it will come back on sometimes, other times when I push it it turns the whole thing off as its supposed to do.

I just had the same problem with my hoover duros, the vacuum was running fine but the powerhead kept going off. I would make a sweep with it and powerhead would be running and then next sweep powerhead would shut off. I had tried checking connection and belt, etc. I thought it was the powerhead. But then I found the problem. On the duros there are 2 pieces of wands that hook powerhead to hose on canister. They both connected and clicked in fine but I decided to check them separately. I hooked just one piece to hose and powerhead and then turned it on and then I did the other piece. ta-dah! that's what it was only one section of the wand. When I hooked them up separately, one piece the powerhead worked totally fine and vacuumed like normal. When I removed that piece of wand and tried the second piece (actually the bottom section when both are hooked together) the powerhead did not work at all. So I just need to get a new section of wand. Hope this helps!

Looks like there's an interchanged wires in your vacuum. Both the motor and the powerhead must go together. Check it up. Leave the
motor wiring connection intact. Just tinker and check the powerhead
wiring connection .

No power when its turned on

There was a (common cause) power arc during the swap (while running the vacuum).
The fuse located under the grey clipped-on plate of the canister is blown. The fuse is soldered-on the board and would need to be changed (board or fuse). Not "user friendly" zone. Warranty? Smart if they designed a breaker button instead of a fuse here...

Royal 3050 power head does not run

The sounds like powerhead motor either burned up, or the belt broke and got tangled in the turning motor shaft. Pull the bottom off the power head and look for a curled up rubber band. If you find one, it's the belt.

If it's the motor, you won't hear it running when you turn the powerhead on.

Brush does not turn on my vaccum

If there is no suction when you disconnect the beater bar assembly near the hand hold where you grab the vacuum, then there may be either a restriction in the vacuum line between there and the vacuum section (that rolls around behind you), or the vacuum line from the handle point to the rollaround section is not properly connected. This all assumes the vacuum motor in the rollaround is running.

The beater bar section does nothing but cause dirt particles to be sucked into the vacuum system. The vacuum or suction is created in the rollaround unit.

Powerhead Keeps Shutting Off

Open up the power head and check the toothed corners where the power head sits - it sounds like thread has caught up at the sides which can only be removed by opening up the powerhead to clean it.

Replacing the powerhead motor

depending on which powerhead you have the screw may be under the decal on top of the powerhead. you should be able to feel an indent above the motor. most of the other heads do not have a "hidden screw".

Fantom Canister

It sounds like you have a hose problem. You should be aware that the Fantom company went bankrupt many years ago. I know that the Fantom name was bought by another company and there may be Chinese units sold under that name, but service and parts availability is an issue. There may be an issue with the power delivery to the powerhead. This is through the hose, from the canister connection and down the wand assy. You should check the continuity from the canister down to the powerhead.
