Re: GE Profile Spacemaker keeps asking for time date...

The mag's little cooling fan probably broke loose and fell off the fan motor's shaft. The fan motor will still be running when you hit start but there is no fan on it. The fan keeps the mag cooler. The mag will heat up too much and then shortly the oven automatically shuts everything down when the mag gets too hot because the fan blade is just lying in there, Fan needs to be glued back on the shaft after the shaft is roughed up a little. Disconnect the plug-in wires (note where they go on), wiggle and remove the fan motor from the oven. I used contact cement to hold the fan to the shaft. the fan motor is located right behind the control panel. You have to first remove the grill, then the control panel's screws. It's not difficult to repair. No new parts needed.

Re: GE Profile Spacemaker keeps asking for time date...

The power to the unit is drooping (when the heavy microwave load kicks in) causing the reset.
Try plugging it into a different outlet (whole different circuit if possible) and if that works then you have a wiring problem to the original outlet.

Well the only way to fix it, replace the keypad control board, but consider the cost in parts, it will rival some new microwave ovens.

How do I unlock the touchpad of my Profile 2.0 Spacemaker Microwave Oven # JVM2070

If you have access to where your microwave is plugged in, unplug it for a few minutes and then plug it back in. This will reset your contol panel. Then follow your book directions to reset the time on the clock. Hope this helps!

Ge eterna series - installed above oven. microwave stops working and display instructs to set time and date, then after setting time and date and starting oven again it stops after a few seconds and asks...

The magnetron draws a lot of power and the mains may be dipping beneath an acceptable level, causing the panel to reset.
Check the supply cable size and any connections.

GE spacemaker Power goes off and clock needs resetting

Try going to the breaker box and shutting off the power to the microwave for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, turn back on and set the clock. This fixed my clock and turntable both. Apparently turning off the power resets the software in the clock.

Reset clock, ge spacemaker xl1800 times out after 2-3 seconds

There's a simple fix for this. Unplug the unit. Take off the top grill with 2 screws. Remove the 1 screw that holds the touch pad unit. Lift up on touchpad unit and lift out. Put a piece of aluminum foil inside a large zip lock bag and tape it to the back of the touchpad unit and reassemble. GE put the magnetron to close to the control board causing stray microwaves to interfere with the board. The foil shields it.

Enter clock and time every usage

It sounds like it is momentarily losing supply voltage, in other words, like unplugging it and plugging it back in. Check your plug in at the outlet to make sure it is tight. If that doesn't help, then a service call may be in order as something may be loose inside the service area.
