X2 board I have several (12) X2 projectors that have bad controller boards. Where can I find replacements? It will cost about $350 + parts to have these repaired by InFocus.

Re: X2 board

I have ballast problems with several X2 X3 projectors and even a C180 (Proxima) although with different ballast power layout. My X2 units mostly seem to have blown a pair of output FETs (2SK3568), but that is only part of the problem. One unit powers up, but just won't strike the lamp. Installing a good ballast power supply board fixes the problem, but I can't find any place to buy or repair these without sending the whole projector in for repair.

Perhaps it is time to trace out the schematic of these boards and have someone start repairing them at big profits.

Where can I buy a main board for an Infocus SP7200 projector? The part number is 510-1720-3L-00

This projector, although its original retail price approached $7,000 was last shipped in 2005 and is obsolete. Parts are extremely difficult to find and a replacement lamp may cost more than 50% of the replacement cost for an entirely new 1000 Lumen home theater projector. I would suggest replacing the projector rather than attempting to repair it.

possibly the colorwheel. remove the lamp and see if the colorwheel is still there (colored glass through the hole). if it is, replace the lamp and turn the projector on. if you hear a high pitched whir, the colorwheel motor is ok. if not, it's one of 2 things: the main board has come loose from the dmd chip board, or the main board (eca controller) is bad. if the board is bad, you'll need to replace it, but it's over $500.

I have an LP530. Need main circuit board

Try LumenArc. They stock a range of ballasts. If yours is not listed, then email them.

Infocus projector power supply parts

you won't find schematics for them. infocus had their boards made by someone else who now no longer makes boards. it's usually the caps drying out that causes power problems.

Infocus projector power supply dead

the caps dry out. look for bulging caps. you won't find a schematic for the ps boards. infocus had someone else make them. the problem seems more like a overheating issue. as for the other one with the "just the fans", check the colorwheel.

Infocus x2

first try another computer cable. if same results, press the "auto image" button on the projector. if that doesn't work, press menu, select settings, then factory reset, and "yes". if you still have the same problem, the eca (main board) is bad.

Color problem

Check the cables connected to the back of the projector. reinsert the cables a few times to get a good contact. Jiggle the connection at the projector to see if there is a bad connection, do this while viewing the image on the screen. If everything is good and no response to the connections, It might be the main/input board is bad and will need replacement.

Unable to switch off projector with remote (Infocus SP4805)

A bit unusual for the projector to stop responding to the remote. Usually it follows when someone has opened the projector, they forgot to reconnect the controls from the case top which also includes the IR receiver. If it isn't that, it could be a broken IR pc board or bad connection. I've seen that.

The worst case is that the IR controller on the main board has failed and if that's the case, you'll have to live with it as the cost of a new board is very high.

In need of new controller board???

The cost of a new controller is prohibitive. If you have to replace that, you may as well replace the projector. It is the second most expensive part in the projector, the optical engine being the most expensive. Last time I checked, a new Controller Board assy is in the neighborhood of $800 - $900.
