I changed from Direct TV to Dish and I want to change my remote

When battery is changed, all the previous settings will be lost from the remote control. You should once again set it to your device, using codes.

Most tv's have a physical button on the front and it will either be labeled input or source-source select. If thats not the case on your tv, look for a menu button and try to navigate through the tv menus until you find tv input or source select. If that still does not work, you can use your dish 500 remote and if you already use that to turn the tv on and adjust volume, you can probably use it to change the input. To do this, select the tv mode on your dish 500 remote, and then press the source or input button until you get to where you need to be. Once thats done, make sure you return your remote to sat mode or you will not be able to control the dish reciever. Hope this was helpfull to you.

Hello, this is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network. If the remote will not change from "TV" mode to "SAT" mode, try changing the batteries first. If changing the batteries makes no difference and you still can not get the remote to change to "SAT" mode, the remote is defective and needs to be replaced. If it does change to "SAT" mode, but is not working you can try putting system info on your screen, (power off the receiver using front panel button, the press "up" arrow on the front of receiver). When systeminfo is on your screen, on the remote press the "SAT"button one time, and then press the "record" button threetimes. Try pressing select to see if it is now working. You canalso try to hard reset your receiver. To perform a hard reset, you unplugthe receiver from its power outlet, wait 15 seconds, then plug it backin. Try reprogramming the remote again with the first part of theseinstructions. If the remote is still not working, it may be faulty. Your dish remote is the only one that is compatible with the dish receiver. You're going to have to program all the functions you want to use to the dish remote. They are usually set up for all the normal functions, volume, power, dvr etc.

I suspect you have a dish or direct tv hookup.If so press your menu button on the tv then select favorite channels.change the channel to your preset for your system.save the channel and it should bring the tv up.

If you have a dish network, you may have to make some changes in order for the harmony remote to control it. I found the link below helps but it didnt work exactly for mine so you may have to contact your service provider:
