Question about D-Link DI-624 Air Plus XtremeG Wireless 108G Router (790069250842)

Can not connect to router via a wireless connection.

I am trying to create a home network with 2 computers. I comp has vista and one has xp. One is connected via a lan connection and the otther a wireless connectionI have a d-link 624 router and virgin broadband cable modem.
It took me a lot of trial and error to get the modem and router to talk to each other but I finally managed to get an internet connection through LAN. I think this is because the inernet was originally established on the computer before the router (introduced at a later date). However I am unable to connect to the internet via a wireless connection on a 2nd computer. I can see the network in available networks but it will not connect. I have left the network open security to eliminate this as a factor.

Please help!

You could try to manually set your IP address in the TCP/IP, the gateway and your ISP DNS

My comp will not connect to my wifi linksys router, net work is up internet provider transfered me to linksys who wants to charge me $75 to fix, what do I do??

What is the Operating system on your computer ?
If it is XP then in the bottom right hand corner you will find Wireless network connection ( looks like 1 computer monitor). Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is windows Vista, then in the bottom right hand corner you will find 2 computer monitor icon. Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is Windows 98/ME/2000 then use the adapter utility to connect to the wireless network.
For MAC you will see the AIRPORT icon at the top.

Check the wireless settings of the router first . Make sure that yopu have all the wireless settings of the router. If you are not sure about the settings, then open the router set up and check the settings.

Can't connect DSi with same security as comps

hello, yes i had the same problem, but i had it with many other computers, the way i solved it was going into the router settings and click the "restore default settings" then turned the router off for 15 seconds (for a fresh reboot) then when i had to set everything up again i got all my computers on the router and im able to add more without running into that same problem once again, or for a simpler solution try disconnecting the wireless on the computers and replugging them in.... that works sometimes as well

Vista wireless networking with 2 computers cabled to router

To disable the ( redundant ) wireless connection, right click ' My network places' click properties, in the dialog right click your wireless connection, click disable. YMMV in Vista. There are several ways to disable an adapter, might try Windows Help.
If your "someone" installed Norton AV that's what degraded your performance. Remove it and pick one of the free ones like Avast or AVG. If the previous AV wasn't removed properly you're going to see a slowdown.

it will take you to a new screen that says services at the top on that screen you need to scroll down at the bottom and look for wlan auto configuration rt click on it and click start if start is greyed out press restart....
close services down..
click start>click connect to form the start menu> and check it gives your network name in there .if it says anything like no network found in range. pls make sure that wireless switch on your laptop is turned on...
if still you're not able to connectr it's a concern with the drivers of wireless adapter on your comp genrally on new comps its quite common get the drivers reinstalled....

Try to setup home wireless network to share two home computer

Connect the home wireless network router box to the main PC through an ethernet cable with the PC powered off and the home wireless router powered off, then power on the PC & the router. Vista should locate the new wireless network and follow the windows vista network setup procedures. After the wireless network has been detected you then while the second PC's power is shut off you connect dongle adapter to the PC power on and XP will locate the new adapter. You will probably have to enter your networks pin for the connection.
Get back to me when you complete these steps.
