Charging light is flashing

There are two possible causes for this issue:
1) Your dell 9400 charger is malfunction
2) Your laptop dc power jack is loose or dead

Possible troubleshooting step:
1) Borrow a compatible dell charger to plug in your laptop, if it works without any issue, it means your dell inspiron 9400 adapter need to be replaced.

2) If the compatible dell 9400 charger won't work normally, the problem may lie in your dc power jack.

Hope this will help.

No sound speakers and headphone dell inspiron 9400

First, check that the audio is not muted, either via any hardware switch/button, or via software.

If not, I'd download and reinstall the sound card drivers for your notebook here:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriversHome/NeedProductSelection

you will need to select your model, or put in your service tag (on the bottom of your notebook) and then look for the driver under audio in the list.
from memory the first audio file should be the one you are after.
click on download, on the right hand side.

once downloaded, run and install software, then restart the computer.

Hope this info helps.

How do I get at the sound card on my inspiron 9400. The headphone jack needs to be serviced.

I would suggest taking this laptop to an authorized service center. Laptops are just tuff to get open and change hardware. Its more worth your time to have a service center change your hardware. Desktops I fix myself.

Dell 610 lptop - haedphone not working,

First try uninstalling the sound drivers from the device manager, then reboot. It will find and reinstall them, then check Dell's support site for updated sound drivers. If you find updated drivers you will need to use the update button for the device in the device manager. If this doesn't work, then it may be a faulty headphone jack. The jack should override the speakers when the headphones are plugged into it. If you can still hear the speakers with the headphones plugged in then the jack is faulty and needs replaced. If the jack does override the speakers or if you get some static then it could be that the jack has come loose or has a loose or broken wire. The only other thing is try a different set of headphones, sometimes laptops get picky and one set will work and yet another set may not.

Playing ITunes from my dell Inspiron 1300

I have a cable made of
- a 1/8" stereo plug (male) to stereo RCA (female)
- 6' stereo RCA cable (male/male)

Plug the 1/8" into the headphone jack of the laptop and the RCA end into the AUX on a stereo/amplifier...

That gives you one room anyway.
