Have you opened you unit or mess with some jumpers in the motherboard??? some motherboard uses a jumper to close the pins for the front speakers and mic jacks on the case... but if you are not using those the jumpers should be there... refer for your mobo manual... hope it helps...

Windows 7 does not support open al audio. If you have onboard sound download and install the drivers from intel.

If you have a sound card like a soundblaster or saphfirre go to the munufacture website and download and install lateest drivers for win7.

Verify your win7 is 32 or 64 bit in system settings in control panel.

Sound card is not showing on device manager
Thats the link to your audio driver. Try installing that and see if it fixes your issue. If it doesn't, then the sound card on your motherboard may be defective, or the sound is turned off in the BIOS.

I have no volumeit does say NO AUDIO Output Device is installed

From the original mother board installation disk ,if on board sound or with the sound card their was a sound device(software) that must be loaded along with the software driver in order for the sound to work.  Reinstall the sound device.

Hi Shree.
I will provide you a driver which has worked for lots of people. Try this driver and let me know.
This model of Presario has an audio controller that supports the high definition audio. You need to have Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio installed on the computer before installing the audio driver.    Here is the link for the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture driver that need to be installed before installing the audio driver:
After installing the UAA driver reboot the notebook and install the audio driver from the following link:

Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.  2. Right click on "AUDIO DEVICE ON HIGH DEFINATION BUS" or Conexant High defination audio entry and click Update driver.  3. Select "Not at this time", click on next and Select "Install from a list or specific location"  4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"  5. No sound device drivers insalled on my computer

There may be a some file are missing from the sound device driver. You have to notice one thing that your sound device is inbuild or sound card . The inbluid sound device is attach from the mother board(it is like a chip form the mother board and sound card is attach in the slot of the mother board.

In the inbuild sound card driver is comes with the mother board cd any way you can get the cd for both.

Now i tell you the installation
  1. Right Click My Computer icon and go to the properties
  2. Goto the hardware tab and click the device manager
  3. There you see the sound, viedo and game conntroller.
  4. right click the sub files and click on the update .
  5. Put the sound card on the cd driver.
  6. and install the device driver and restart the computer.
these are the sound card method to install.
