Changing region

Hi,

I bought an Initial IDM-895 in the USA and the shop keeper told me I could change it from a Region 1 player to a region free player by obtaining the code on the internet. However, despite months of trying, I cannot find this code anywhere and am at a loss what to do.

Does such a code for this player exist, and if so, can you please tell me how to find it and what I need to do to be able to play my DVDs (I am based in the UK).
