hello my Canon PIXMA iP1000 cannot print black ink, how can i fix this problem, i try to print in nozzle check and it print, but when i print in a microsoft word/other documents, and pictures it cannot print black,
Try to print nozzle check without the colour cartridge, because in nozzle check it can print black from combination of all colors (result is black).
If it prints without the color cartridge tehn it's an X-files situation! :))
I'm sure it wont print, so than it can be a clogged printhead (the best that can happen, because then i just tell you how to unclogge it) but more often for this type of printer is the deterioration of printhead and here Canon gotcha, because a new printhead is as expensive as the printer itself!...
This is what worked (so far) with my Dell AIO A940 printer that wouldn't print black ink.
It worked for awhile when I chose photo/glossy paper, but then it quit printing again (see below).
PRINT, PROPERTIES, PAPER SETUP, SPECIALTY PAPER, PHOTO/GLOSSY
I got it to print, again, by putting SEVERAL papers in the feeder (instead of just 1) - there is a sensor that is supposed to automatically detect paper type, and it might not be working right, especially with one or only a couple of sheets.
It is making a curious grinding noise when it prints, and the copies are coming out with some lines...
