Re: spring

Without knowing the model (or having either a diagram or a unit) you pose a question I can't might try an email to logitech support (assuming this is an expensive mouse) or B) If not expensive buy a can find them on the internet for as little as $5.00 including shipping (or your local computer repair shop or Goodwill store might have a used mouse).

Had the same issue today - you've probably solved by now yourself but adding images for others. Bit fiddly, but got there in the end. Getting the orientation of the housing and the spin click spring is a bit awkward.

I've taken apart and cleaned our logitech BJ58 optical mouse and there are 2 spring like components that have escaped and I just need to know where to put them back. My husband is going to kill me lol ;)

If they are springs, they probably go under the buttons somewhere.

Go buy him a new one that looks like a racing car with flashing lights, he'll just think you love him.

I took the mouse apart and I can't put it back

Make sure the circuit board and wires are all in place correctly so they aren't preventing the case from snapping/connecting back together.

Most of the time, it's just a small piece of wire or something that is getting in the way and preventing you from closing it back up.

Devices are made so small these days that they don't leave much room in them for loose wires and all.

I hope this helps :)

If it's a scroll wheel spring, of which there are 2, I had the same issue today. Got them back were they belong now, Enclosed 2 pictures of how they go, I assume these will be the same as yours. 014b916.jpg
This one, at the left side, makes the wheel "step" as you scroll it.
This one, at the right side, gives the wheel resistance, so it is not constantly "mid-clicking" as you try to scroll up or down. I believe this is the most likely one that is most likely to fall out if you were cleaning the wheel...
