How do I scan with the cannon mg 5522 printer

You have the Scanner / Printer connected to your USB port on your computer?
You would have installed the software that came with it.
There is an Application that came with it that would allow you to Scan a document placed on the flat bet glass.
If you have Apple Mac then the Image Capture application will also look for scanner devices.

Check the scanner lamp. It is possible the scanner is faulty. Try to replace with a known working lamp. If this doesn't work you might have to check the scanner board or the CCD lense.

The answer is yes to both questions. Follow the instructions below:-
Go to Adobe Acrobat. Click on FILE. Click on CREATE PDF. Click on FROM SCANNER. Click on SCAN. Brother printer/scanner - need to scan multiple pages to one doc

I suspect the scanner is not saving in .pdf format. Generally, if it scans to .tif files each page is in it's own file --- I know that can be very annoying.

Please change the scanner to save as .pdf using the following instructions:

Please let me know if this has been helpful or if you'd like any further assistance. Thank you.

How do I add multiple pages to one scanned doucment?

Open your Adobe Acrobat (e.g., 9.0 Pro), load your pages into the document feeder (fewer than 30 at a time), then ask Adobe Acrobat to create PDF from scanner (File/Create PDF/From Scanner). Canon MP530 as the scanner and click OK. Works like a charm!

Scanning Multiple pages into one pdf

Scanning a multi-page document as a .pdf file reverts the settings for rotation, selected area, etc. to default for any pages after the first page. This applies to Mac OSX 10.3, 10.4, & 10.5. A simple, but tedious work-around is to scan each page as a separate file and easily recombine them using OSX Preview. Just open the first page, view the Sidebar, and drag-drop the additional page files into the sidebar. Save and it's all one multi-page .pdf.
