check to see if you ice bin has full size ice cube in it... if there is then you dispense is stuck in the crush mode check to see if there is something keep the crushing wheels from releasing... other than that it could be the control on the door..hope this helps
Not sure which refrigerator you have but on mine when you select cubes there is a baffle that is pulled out of the way making the opening large enough to allow full sized cubes to pass. When you select crushed the baffel is left in place forcing the ice to pass through the crushing section. My guess is they are all probably about the same. So either the baffel peice on yours is missing, electrically stuck. Hard to say for certain with out seeing it.
You could have a bad augar motor. It will turn one way for crush and the other way cube. that is the moldel with ice bin on door. If you have ice bin in the freezer not on the door. you could have the ice crusher lever jammed. that is the wire lever on the bottom of ice bin. Or the selnoid the moves the lever up thus opening the door and allowing the ice to pass the crushers. hope this helps.
If you pull out your ice bucket and look on the bottom you will see a long
brass colored rod. Now, if you look inside your freezer section. you
will see the slot the rod enters each and every time you insert your ice maker
bucket. In the down position (normal) it produces crushed ice,
When you switch the lever in the front for ice cubes, there is a plunger
that lifts the rod and produces the combination that only allows ice
cubes to come out. I would first check the plunger behind the panel and
see if it is free.If it is not free it can cause the ice to be crushed...
What is most likely your problem is the crushed ice solenoid. This solenoid, which is located next to the auger motor behind the ice bucket, is failing to actuate when you request cubed ice. Its "home" setting is crushed, and actuates to allow cubes past the crushing mechanism in the bucket. To be certain its the problem, remove the ice bucket, and tape the door light switch in the closed position. actuate the ice dispenser lever, for both cubed and crushed ice. you will see a square hole next to the rotating fork, when you select cubes, it should open. If it does open, there is something wrong with your ice bucket, perhaps the arm is broken, or the door inside bucket is off its snap in type hinge or broken altogether. If it doesnt open, replace the solenoid
Will probably find the freezer fan has failed.Push in the door switch on left hand front of freezer with the door open & you should here fan running,if not new fan required.
You need a service guy to look at it. It could be water leaking or a simple case that the flap isnt sealing and the ice melts and then freezes the flap open
