Question about Bose Cinemate Digital Home Theater System Speaker

1 Answer

My TV is not compatible with plugged in speakers

I have a polariod HDTV that does not function with my Bose Cinemate speakers. The internal TV speakers do not turn off and the sound wont come out through the speakers when connected. We can plug the speakers directly into TIVO, but then we have no volume control. Does anyone know of something we can hook the speakers to, like an adapter, audio receiver or DVD player with internal volume control to solve this problem?

Bose cinematic autoshut off

The device which sends Audio to Bose causing this issue. I have my Bose Cinemate connected to TV and it will remain until I switch off Bose Interface via remote (Even TV is switched off).

Overheating cause this issue, so keep the Cinemate to have some space to cool.

I have a Bose Cinemate System and a new LG Plasma TV that it will not work with. The Bose system connects using red and white RCA connectors and needs it to be plugged into an Audio Out. The only Audio Out...

If you're using a Cinemate for HDTV listening you're missing out on multichannel sound. However, since it only supports analog 2-channel audio AND a TV or monitor is NOT a meaningful contributor to the listening experience, maybe you could extract the TV audio from the cable box where it ultimately originates in the first place. I'm sure it has a convenient and compatible RCA pair.

How can I hook up my Bose cinemate on my Philips HD tv when no there is no Audio out and I want to use it for my dvd player, cable box, and video systems?

You don't need to send audio TO a TV. I's a TV, not a source of anything. Many of us use monitors (no TV speakers). The Bose speakers are presumably superior to the TV speakers so whatever the TV is watching (cable/sat/dvd) shuld have its own audio.

Page 11.

If your TV does not have any audio output jacks, you can connect the CineMate™ speaker

system to the audio output jacks of another source, such as a DVD player or cable/satellite

box. However, you will hear sound only from the connected source through your CineMate

No audio out connecter on back of Phillips 52 in TV

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Almost all (European) Philips have a SCART type connector as shown below.
With the use of a SCART Adapter (below), the outputs are available as Audio L/R & Composite Video and S-Video either as output or input.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Connecting my HDTV to my Bose Cinemate

If your BOSE system only has one audio input you will have to connect everything to your tv and like the other guy said there will be an audio out on the back of your tv, connect that to your BOSE and when you switch inputs on your tv it should send that audio to your speaker setup.
