I had the same problem. I did indeed update drivers. That did nothing for me still only printed one page and quit. So, this is what worked for me
1. Control Panel 2. Click on printers 3. Once you see the printer, right click on it, select run as administrator 4. Click on properties 5. Click on advanced tab 6. Click on the "Print directly to Printer" option
I've downloaded lemark3550 drivers cjb3500-4500en for vista, but it does not install fully because it does not find the printer ! It asks, connect USB cable, since printer is not detected! ! I'm stuck.

That happens all the times when first print job encounter a problem and stops printing and it was followed by series of print jobs. Some reasons for stop printing could be a printer out of paper and printer not set as default printer.
The best way to fix it is to cancel all pending jobs. When print jobs window is cleared off pending print jobs, restart your PC and your printer. Then go to your printer and make sure it is the default printer.
After that try printing a test page. Once a test page is successful, you can now print as many as you want.

I noticed that when I restart Windows, I can print one sheet fine, the second sheet prints only half. Restart again, and I can print one more sheet. My local Canon helpdesk proves as unhelpful as all helpdesks these days.
Connect it back to the computer and verify it's still working properly that way. It does indeed sound like a compatibility issue, but it may be correctable with a quick chat with the friendly folks at NetGear.
