Subwoofer output: Hold the (AM-) button down for at least two seconds. You can do this function when "SWPRE" in is set to . The SWPRE (Switching Preout) Switches the preout between rear output ("R") and subwoofer output ("SW").

What speakers should i get for the cda 9886 i have a 2000 pontiac grand prix gtp 2dr coupe

The world is your oyster mate, you can have what ever speakers you want in other words, With the Alpine you probably have preouts as well, preouts being red and white adapters that plug into the back of your unit to enable you to extend your system to an amplifier and subs as well as the four standard speakers

I cannot get the rca speaker wires to produce sound. i can get sound out of the hard wire speaker wires

the rca speaker hook ups are there to carry a signal to an amp and the amp to put a signal out to your speakers so with that being said you will not get sound out of them due to the fact that it carries a real real low power signal

I have pluged a kca420i & ipod into my alpine-9855r but i'm only getting music in the left speekers

Let's do some inexpensive troubleshooting. At the amp switch the rca jacks and see if you still get sound. If you get sound out of the left speaker then the right side output needs to be repaired. But if you get sound out out of the right speaker only then you have a problem with the preout of the stereo and the stereo will need to be repaired. Hope this helps.

Re-check all speaker wires carefully where they go through holes in vehicle body for breaks in wire insulation, also check any screws that you may have fitted, one of these may have been screwed through the wire causing a short and the car stereo unit to output no sound. Make sure the stereo unit earth wire has an earth direct to vehicle body and not into a wire in the vehicle loom.

Alpine x200 Subwoofer Preout pushing out a weak signal

Hi, just turn up the gain, though the max voltage may be higher, it does not mean the audible output is higher, alpine decks subwoofer control is an attenuator, so at max it will be the same level as front n rear, on min it is -15db... you will probably find the kenwood is +/- 7db so it has a gain boost...
just crank up the amp gains, problem sorted...
