My sony car cd player reads error every time i put a cd in it .doesnt matter what kind of cd it is .

some cd players if the cd you put in not original cd doesnt read and try to clean the head sometimes dirt on it.clean it with cd player cleaner

The error 4 in most Sony stereos is an error that comes up when the laser pickup doesn't read the disc correctly. This happens most of the time because of a dirty lens in the laser pickup. If anyone smokes in the vehicle the smoke may be on the lens causing the error code. Try a wet type CD cleaning disc to see if it helps.

Make sure your (+) lead ,usually the red wire, and your constant wire(orange/yellowish) are spliced completely and not frayed or grounding out, also check your ground take a screwdriver and scratch the surface to expose as much bare metal a bad ground is like kryptonite to electronics. let me know if this corrects the problem

if it doesnt read any kind of dvd discs at all it only means you have been rip off. It happened to my sony dvd player that I bought from this website. I tested it and it only reads cd or audio cd. Good thing my couzin fixes electronics, He checked on the lens and it turned out that the lens has been replaced with an audio/cd lens like the one we use for our car stereo. Too bad!!!

hi i recently bought a lexus ls400 and it the trunk it has a ten disc cd changer by the steering wheel in the car is this little black box that keeps reading E-99 evertime i press play on this odd little box that is the control device to make the cd's play i've put the cd 's in the changer upside down right side up testing it and still the little black cd player play button/disc change button keeps saying E-99 my question is, is it a fuse or is this cd player thing near the stearing wheel just a peiece of garbage please contact me at [email protected] if you have any idea why this is doing this because i can't play any cd's theres no cd player where the cd/tape decks usually are in cars in the middle above the column shift. it would mean the world to me if you could help me out with any information as to why this brand new sony ten disc cd changer is giving issues to the cd player thing next to the stearing wheel on the right it's kind of hidden but it just won't stop saying e-99 no matter how brand new a cd i put in the changer thank you your friend john bunce

are you trying to mix a MP3 CD and a non MP3 player?

run the lens cleaner through a couple times if that doesnt work then your lazer eye could be bad send out for repair or ebay a new one and sell that one on ebay there are some people who will buy it broken cause they can fix it cheap and sell it good luck...

I just have this problem: the tuner is working well, but the USB and CD stopped giving sound after it was working well at first time.
I JUST PUSH THE RESET BUTTON, SITUATED NEXT TO USB AND AUX PLUG ON THE FRONT PANEL. EVERYTHING WORKS WELL NOW. PAGE 3 ON THE MANUAL
