Re: Philips 50PP920217F remote/color
Requires convergence amp IC replacement ( two) and check
resistors in vicinity of IC's....fairly technical repair....Please read
some of my convergence solutions and let me know if you want
step by step instructions............................T.

Here's what Philips FAQ says about your convergence procedure: Question
How do I adjust convergence (align colors)?
AnswerNote: For best results,
the Projection TV needs to be turned on for 15 minutes or longer before
adjusting the picture tubes (convergence).
INTELLISENSE button on the remote (under the flap). During the
convergence process DO NOT press the INTELLISENSE button again and DO
NOT move the Projection TV.
So, I think you're going to need to order a replacement remote. search "replacement remote" at http://www.philips.com
U can't alignments this even u have the original remote.Tv have a problems known as convergence problems,it dead.Colors lines R,G,B mis alignments, have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike? The tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too. These parts, must be changes on the tv convergence board to fix convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems. The shop, will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
Projection TV sets have two very common problems oulined below.
Problem #1: Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )
Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
Screen looks 3D
Colors don't line up
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed or warped.
No Audio/Video - TV Makes Chirping Sound
Here is a quick test....
Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.
Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.
You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.
If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.
Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy
Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.
This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks! See link for more detail http://www.ehow.com/how_4575598_yourself-projection-tv-repair-convergence.html
Don't adjust anything from the rear of the set unless you are a TV repair tech. It can get ugly real quick.
Try adjusting the convergence using your remote...Pull up the settings menu - goto picture - convergence - etc....See if you can adjust the color alignment back to normal. If not your convergence chips are most likely going out.
Color tubes are OK. Do not adjust. The issue at hand is called
convergence alignment.The repair involves-------
2)Replace convergence IC's
work should be done by a skilled technician........T.
This might be something really simple... In a large number of DPTV310 chassis, of which this TV is, the yoke connections where put in place with black electrical tape just below the retaining rings. Job is to loosen the rings, remove the tape and push the yoke back in place and tighten down retainer.. Be careful not to throw off the tilt of the yoke.
The adhesive on the tape, over time, gets hot so many time it becomes slippery and allows the yoke to fall away from it's position dulling the look of the image (or focal length) causing the problem you're describing here...
It also throws off the convergence - so in attempting to converge it just looks worse.
