Question about Wolf Range Kitchen Ranges
How do I adjust the center (simmer) flame height? Four of my Wolf burners show excessive center flame height whereas the other two burners show a center flame height never exceeding that of the outside ring flame height regardless of how high the control knob is turned. The high flame appears to be dangerous if turned on with no cookware in place.
Is this lp or natural gas? The screw you turned adjusts the low flame only. Did this just start, or has it always done this? Let me know.

SOURCE: burner flame height adjustment
All ignitors will always arc whenever one of them does.
I haven't worked with propane systems much, but it seems you may need the propane pressure regulator adjusted.
If the problem is only with the power burner, I would ensure that particular orifice was actually changed. The hole in a propane orifice is smaller than for natural gas.

SOURCE: Low Flame is too high to simmer
there should be a regulator between the stove and the main gas line .unscrew lock nut turn valve clockwise to turn gas down. turn down too far , will turn gas off.

either turn down the gas knob or turn knobs to lowest setting without going out. That is about your only options

Every one of these ranges that I have seen with the oval style burner on them have a smaller flame then the normal round burners. And there is very little difference between the low and high settings. It sounds like what you are experiencing is normal. What the GE repairman was adjusting is called the "simmer stop". There is a small flat head screw inside the burner stem. By turning this screw you can adjust the size of the burner on the low position of the burner knob. This should be adjusted to where the burner still stays on when the knob is at the lowest setting. I do not think that you need the burner repaired. From my experience they are all like that.
