Lexmark X125 keeps saying cover open change cartridge

I have reinstalled new cartridges both black and colour however I keep getting this message and nothing will print. I have turned it on and off several times, unplugged, shutdown my computer and restarted but still this message appears on the printer. I have pressed the start button but nothing happens. I can't print from any document? Any suggestions?

I also have tried, but nothing happened. I also used cartridges refilled at Walgreens, is that a problem.

I have also changed my black ink cartridge and still machine continues to tell me that I need to "change black ink cartridge". Suggestion was to make sure "clear" ribbon was proper but I have looked and I have no idea what "clear" ribbon talking about!

More on the Lexmark cartridges, use the install, align, clean heads/nozzles etc on the maintanance provided.BUT if you need to buy a new cartridge,go to a newer freshly supplied store, feel the weight of the cartridge(in box) then again when you have the old one in hand.Just printed 50+ pages on mine since the last post.Works fine. Now if I could find out why my dial-up modem speed went from 45300 to 21600,duh.

Had the same problem, fixed it.Easy.Right click printer icon, click settings, click print, then at the top click maintanence, clean printer heads, print a test page or two, align heads.Clean bottom nozzles with alcohol, then maybe soak in 1/2" hot water, then dry, before trying.Should get some results. If not satisfactory, your cartridge sponge dreid out,"only needs 30 minutes or so". Or you may have bought an old"new" empty cartridge as I did. Bought a new fresh one,my printer works like new.THIS drove me crazy!!!

Try to make sure that the clear "ribbon" is situated correctly inside the unit, otherwise it will not communicate correctly with the moving electronics in the cartridge tray

I have Lexmark X125 and get message "Check Cartride" I put a new Black Cartride in and get message " None Changed" Printer won't print. What can I do?

What is the black cartridge version that you are using on your Lexmark X125 printer? If you are inserting a photo cartridge on your printer, please follow these steps: 1. Remove the black cartridge and insert the photo cartridge. The printer LCD screen will display CARTRIDGE? NONE CHANGED. 2. Press the Options button to select NEW RIGHT and then press Start. The printer LCD screen will now display RIGHT CARTRIDGE? 3. Use the Options button to select the STD PHOTO cartridge type and click Start. An Alignment page will then print. When the Alignment page is fully printed, the LCD screen will display CARTRIDGE ALIGN. 15 [00-30] A , where - 15 represents the straightest line on the page; - [00-30] is the value range you can select from, between 00 and 30 - A represents the line in each section. 4. Use the numbers on the keypad to select the number of the line you think is the straightest. As you press the number, the LCD will change to the next line automatically. Select the number representing the straightest line in each section.

Lexmark x125 system error after installing new inks

All cartridge installation and level reporting is done through the printer itself, not the software. You should ensure the X125 has the cartridges installed in stand alone mode first. To do so, open the lid and remove the cartridges. Then unplug the power cord for one minute. Reinsert the cartridges, connect the power cord and close the lid. When the lid is closed, the display will ask you if "New" or "Old" cartridges were installed. If new, align the cartridges, if asked to do so. If this still presents you with a "Change Cartridge" message or something similar, please try a different cartridge.

Lexmark X125 not printing at all.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

I keep getting cartridge error or it prints a blank page. There is no tape on the cartridge and they are installed properly. It prints sometimes but not all the time Printer keeps saying cartridge error

This has been just happening with me aswell - I just changed the colour cartridge with the black cartridge ran out but i kept it in as it told me to place one in. Trying to print out but black ink wont come - just blank pages - surely the colour cartridge can make black? However, if you have the colour cartridge and are on microsoft word or similar, change the colour of the writing to dark navy and it will print out documents.

Clean the contacts on the cartidge and printer ( open the replace ink door wait for the printhead to come to center and turn off power) if that does not work then replace cartridge, it might be a recycled one that they did not chane the chip.

Lexmark x4270 colour printer

Did you remove the the tape covering the contacts? Of course you did. Re-install new cartridge. Open the lexmark all-in-one center software and in the top left corner the third option is "Maintain/Troubleshoot". Click on "Maintain or fix quality Problems". Click on "install new print cartridge" and follow the instruction.
