Same problem here. I turn it on, and I just get the "sansa" welcome message. No matter what button I press, nothing changes. I tried plugging it into my computer via the USB port, and the computer doesn't recognize that anything is plugged in.

Call technical support because they will need to send you firmware to format the player

Sansa m240 and itunes

Probably not, try going to where the songs are all stored [My Music] select all the songs and open with the Sansa converter-to transfer music or use Windows Media Player.

Otherwise open My Computer then SansaM240 folder and drag the songs into Music.

Your device is too full.

The device needs 8MB of free space to create the database or menu.

Connect the device to your computer, go to My Computer>Device Name (m240)>Open the device and manually delete some songs, 10 should suffice.

Disconnect the device and re-start it.

Your device should function as normal.

Best of Luck.
