Question about Toshiba 43H71 43" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Dec 2001 Blue reflection and arch on bottom 1/4 of picture

My Toshiba 43h71 was purchased Dec. 2001 and recently handed down to me after my grandparents received a new plasma for Christmas 2007. The picture has a blue reflection and arch on the bottom quarter of the screen, can I adjust this distortion out somehow? Although I would be interested in having the television fixed, I doubt I could afford it. I would be comfortable making the repairs myself, if someone where to instruct me. I am a cabinetmaker of ten years and am able to use power tools and follow instructions accurately and safely. If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate them.

Red is off

This is the typical convergence problem you will read about over and over on this website. You need to replace 2 amplifier IC's part number STK392-110 and check all of the resistors in that circuit.
