Question about LG DU-42PX12XC 42 in. Plasma HDTV
I have an LG DU-42PX12X. When powered on, it displays verticla lines of various colors, and widths throughout the screen. Here is a picture of what i am talking about:
Please let me know what I should do/can do to fix it--or at least figure out more about the problem.
I had the same problem on my DU-42px12xc. Red, green , and blue lines vertically on the right side of the screen. I found a loose solder connection under the inputs board on a resistor. After re-soldering, everything was crystal. I'm happy I grabbed this tv before my work threw it out. Be very careful when soldering SMT components. Use proper equipment. I had to troubleshoot while the tv was on, so I was extremely careful not to short anything out.
I pulled the inputs board out to gain access to the "Y-axis" pins.
resistor located under the inputs
I started pushing on the resistors 'till the color lines started working correctly, and re-soldered the four resistors.

I tried your solution, but didn't solve my problem (like yours, at left two vertical magenta bars appearing and disappearing...!!!).
I resolderered all resistor contacts and all ics contacts ( i am a patient man... :-P), but no way to see some better results.
S i dismounted all bottom part where flat "paper" cables go to plasma panel.
Before doing what soever operation please dismount the long bar with dissipators, otherwise you will break them for sure! They are strongly kept by this long bar.
After dismounting i cleaned all contacts, and resoldered all other resistors and capacitors i found. Maybe i found one capacitor desoldered on one side, so i was pretty happy (after five hours of dismounting and soldering!).
I reassembled everything.... It's three weeks that no bar appear!!!!
So blusver thanks for your "trace" to understand where to work, even if the problem was different!!!
Thanks in advance,
