Re: MyMusix PD-6110 MP3 Player wont play any songs

This is the first MP3 I have ever owned, The MyMusix PD-6110 MP3 Player indicates it will play both MP3 and WMA format. The MP# files I have not had a problem with. The WMA files are a different story. Are all WMA file created equal?

Unfortunately, your files must have gotten corrupt. This issue is most prevalent if you disconnect the mp3 before it has completed the transfer of songs.

To fix it, format the mp3 by plugging it into the USB port, right clicking the drive that is displayed and choosing "Format". This will remove all songs from the mp3 player. Afterward, you can re-add any songs that were lost. But make sure when disconnecting, you see no loading animation on the screen. Then right click the "Remove Hardware" icon on the bottom right of you screen, choose "Stop". Check again for a loading animation on the screen (if there is one, wait until it stops), and you can remove the mp3 from your USB port.

Reseting now wont charge or turn on

Y'all should go to and download the "player update" (among other tools) to solve this problem. I just bought a returned one today from Radio Shack and had to spend over an hour to get it calibrated properly. It was pretty crazy...I had to press down on "play" and the "reset" buttons simultaneously and then plug in the USB cable, let go of "reset" and then let go of "play" once the "player update" software recognized the darn thing. It's now working perfectly and actually a great deal for $20.

Hopefully you can use the FAQ section on and figure it out exactly, otherwise I'd be happy to give you the step-by-step instructions I followed.

MyMusix PD-6110 MP3 Player wont turn on or do anything!!!! please help

Make sure the lock is not engaged, and that you have reset the machine.

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

I use windows media player 10 for mine and all I do is:

1)click the "sync" tab on the top navigation bar

2)look under the "mp3 player" drop down list on the left side of the screen for "songs"

3) click it, which will open up all of the songs you have in the player

4 find the music you don't want, right click it, and then click delete

there you go

When you hook it up, you should see an icon on your computer for the MP3 player.
I download songs from iTunes to my MAC, then drag them to the MP3 player. However, they do not come from i'Tunes in a MP3 format. I found this on the internet for how to change the format:

When iTunes is open, find "preferences" and then locate "importing" (just look around on the different tabs till you find these, since Mac and Windows put them in different spots) tell it to import using MP3 encoder from the drop down bars, and say OK. now you can right click on the song you want to convert and select "convert to mp3".

Then drag the MP3 song to the MYMusix player icon and it should copy the song.

MyMusix PD-6030 mp3 player will only play like 1/4 of the songs i put on it. Why is That???

As for deleting -
If you are using Windows Media Player 11, go to the sync tab and make sure it is displaying only the files on your Mp3 player, and not every file stored on your Computer's hard drive. Click once on a song you want to delete, and then hit the delete button on your computer's keyboard.

If you're not using Windows Media Player 11, then read pp. 17-20 of your user's manual, available at

As for why songs won't all play-
Make sure the songs are in the correct format. Make sure the songs are not AAC, WAV, streaming, or some other non-supported format

Mp3 players are more complicated than ever. This player may only accept DRM-encrypted WMA files. I would first check the songs that you have downloaded to make sure they did not have "temporary" licenses with a fixed end date. You can do this by right clicking on an individual song, clicking on properties, and selecting the "license," "digital rights mgmt" or "media usage rights" tab - the wording varies by configuration. It will give you info on the license. If the song says that it has no license, it will not work with this player. One remedy is to use mp3 converter software to convert all of those wma files to Mp3's - I don't know of any free ones, but you can certainly look for free Mp3 Converters. Another remedy on unlicensed songs is to hit the "acquire license" link in the license tab, if one exists.
