Question about Acer Aspire 3680 Laptop
I get no sound from SPDIF port. Seems like a common problem listed here on your webiste. Tried the listed solution (standby and boot on), tried jiggling the port, opened computers bottom and tried jiggling different components. Sometimes sound comes on and lasts several hours and sometimes just disappears.
I have had the same problem with my acer aspire 3680. I have been trying different things, and have found one thing that works for me. When I shut the computer down I unplug my speakers first. When I start the computer I wait until the computer starts completely then I plug my speakers in. This has been working for about a week for me with no headphone jack problems at all. Hope this helps someone.

I soleve the problem on a 3680 with XP, (sorry for my english). I try a lot of difrent solutions and none worked. when he was resigned, I remembered that I had a driver saved on my usb, install it and it worked perfect! The driver was Audio_Reltek_v184.108.40.20623_Vistax86

Go to www.acer.com, look for the Support link, then find Drivers and Downloads. You'll need to select your specific laptop, which will give you a list of drivers (look for Realtek audio device). Make sure that XP is selected as the operating system, as drivers can change from one OS to another. You might find several drivers that are newer or missing there, too.
