How do I reset the lamp timer after replacing the lamp?

Same question as aszusz. I just replaced the lamp in my LG RU-52SZ51D. The lamp light had been orange for months, then red for months, both of which I ignored because the picture quality was still fine the entire time. The lamp finally burned out (no picture, visible broken filament when I took it out) after just over 3 years of use. I replaced the lamp, plugged the TV back in, and it works great. For whatever reason, the lamp light is now back to orange. Shouldn't it not be illuminated at all? I found nothing in any soft-menu, and of course the overly basic manual is useless. Is there a reset jumper or switch I need to hit somewhere in the lamp housing area? There must be some way to reset this, which apparrently is just based on some arbirary, canned timer. Thanks!

On the side of the TV press the menu and volume up buttons at the same time for three seconds. The 'reset lamp timer?' will appear on the screen. Press the OK button to accept. You're done!

SOURCE: TY-LA1001-K I replaced the lamp and didnt restet

I have searched and searched on how to reset the timer. Most solutions say you have to press and hold the volume down button on the tv while also holding down the zero button on the remote, or the pip or split button on the remote until the screen display reads that the timer has been reset to zero or the lamp and power button both flash.

I have tried every combination and cannot seem to reset my lamp timer. If you figure it out, please share it with us!! I'm frustrated and can't get it to work!!

The lamp timer on the Hitachi projector must be reset whenever the lamp has been replaced. The "Lamp" indicator on the display will light red or the "Change the Lamp" message will display when the lamp timer needs to be reset. Hitachi recommends that the lamp timer never be reset without replacing the lamp and to always reset the timer when the lamp is replaced. The message functions of the projector will not function properly if the lamp timer is not correctly reset.

  • Turn the power on. Press the "Reset" button for three seconds until the "Lamp xxxx hr" message appears on the lamp timer on the bottom of the screen.

  • 2

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control while the lamp timer is displayed.

  • 3

Press the left arrow button. Select "0" and wait until the timer display clears.

    Projection lamp timer reset

I need help resetting the lamp timer. Is there a way to reset the timer w/o the remote? We bought this tv as a floor model 4 yrs ago and they didn't have the actual remote that came with it, so they gave us another remote that works. We replaced the lamp but we keep getting the message that the lamp needs to be replaced and the timer reset. Plus the red lamp indicator is still on. We even used a friend's remote (he has the exact same tv) and it still will not reset the timer.
