My Kenmore Ultra Fabric care II, 80 series

The water is flowing but the washer is not working on wash cycle and the spin cycle is not working. The water then drains leaving the clothes soaked.

    I have the exact same problem.
    Will fill, motor will run but no agitating. Water will drain, but no spinning, motor just continues to run.

    Has anyone got the repari done? What was the problem?



    I bought the unit at a refurbished/dent warehouse this time in 2006. I replaced the pump last year & now this. A $300 washer is now costing me $500 if i call the repair man back out--should have just bought a brand new one with a warranty.

Hello Friend, The problem is the motor coupler has broke. Replacement is easy, it's installed between the motor and transmission. Almost anyone could replace that part themselves.

i WOULD SUSPECT THE TIMER CONTACT POINTS AT 10 ARE BURNT OR SEIZED YOU CAN TAKE APART AND CLEAN THE CONTACT POINTS IF U KNOW WHAT UR DOING.

Sounds like the machine is stopping to me, could be the off balance switch at the rear off the machine. You should know if its getting to the spin cycle.How wet are your clothes ? Hope this Helps.

Kenmore washing machine will not drain
Replace the timer.
This is a neutral drain machine. If there is no natural pause in the timer at the end of the rinse cycle the timer is bad.
